Don't forget to have a look at the (new) rules and introduce yourself: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/....
We are looking forward to see the plans of everyone, it's always something very interesting. For those currently doing the 2015 RC, don't forget to read your books for it while deciding all the wonders you want for 2016 :p
As we are still early before the launch of the reading challenge, the discussions for the books will open only in December (A-Z folders and Progress Posts). For the moment, feel free to discuss whatever you want in "Off topic", play Games and visit the plans :)

Suggestions for Each Week.
For those who want to print and check their reads, Ashley was very nice to make a printable list! You can find it there:
https://www.goodreads.com/photo/group...

Rules:
- Post your books according to title. Books beginning with "A" and "The" should be placed according to the second word in the title (example: "A Time to Kill" would be placed in the "T" section).
- Make sure that there isn't already a discussion going for your book before creating a new thread! If there is one, join it.
- For the title, use Title, by Author.
- Link the book to the topic, using the This topic is about box.
- To be friendly to other members: add the link to the book in the 1st post and a summary could be nice too.
- To encourage discussion: tell us for which "week number" you'll read the book and why you chose it, don't forget to post when you start the book and give your opinion on it when you finish it.
How to:
- The folders are all available, you'll see them in "folder select" when you create a new topic.
- If you encounter a problem, don't worry, we'll move the topic (thanks to not duplicate if it's not in the right place!).

Santa Claus already delivered his present for the group, so you have now a new folder to post your other challenges (past, present or future). A nice way to keep everything in the same place (and to have a look at more plans, challenges, etc).
Don't forget to have a look at the polls and to check the header of the group to see the important things regarding the organization.
We hope you'll enjoy your 2015 last weeks and have pleasant time with books and people :)

A-Z Folders
The A-Z folders have been open for a little while now (see the Dec 8 announcement) but, as a gentle reminder, please post only your books for the current month we are in. Post the books you're reading in January, regardless of what week you're reading them for, in the month of January. Post the books you're reading in February when it is February and so on and so forth.
Remember to follow the Title, by Author format to keep things uniform and easy to find. Also be sure to check and see if your book has already been posted before creating a new topic. There is a search bar for discussion posts on the upper right-hand side of the group's home page (under the mod pictures) to make searching easier.
Last, but not least, be sure to let us know what week you're reading for or, if it is for another challenge, what challenge you're reading it for.
Progress Posts
Progress Posts are now open for discussion. These are pre-reading discussion topics for each of the weeks. Whether you're reading in order or not, you can come by and talk about the topics and the books you're reading for them.
Book of the Month
This year, in addition to the challenge, we'll be doing a Book of the Month. Our first read is right around the corner so we'll be opening suggestions very shortly. Stay tuned! There is an introduction topic here for more information on this fun new group activity! ;)
Group Bookshelf and Reading Map
Lastly, we mods will be hard at work this year keeping track of all the group's reads on the group bookshelf and the group reading map. Stop by the reading map topic to post your books after you've read them and we'll add them to the map! We'll also be keeping an eye on the A-Z folders to add new books to the group bookshelf as the year progresses. This is why it is important that you only post the books for the month we're in and that you specify which challenge topic it is for - it makes it so much easier on us as mods to keep track of everything and we really do appreciate it! When the year is over, we should have a great visual representation of what we read and where we traveled via books in 2016.
2016 is going to be a truly fantastic year and we're so glad you're going to be part of it! Thank you for being here, enjoy the group, and happy reading!

Jan 3: The poll for the February Book of the Month is now open!
More information about the Book of the Month can be found in the Introduction.
Voting will end on January 14

You'll find a new poll to tell us your preferred reading format:
https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/1...
Mods are currently spending too much time editing the topics posted on the A-Z folders, so please stick to the group format "Title, by Author", don't forget to tell us for which category you're reading the book and create topics only for your 3-4 next reads. Thanks a lot :)

You're entering Hogwarts, the sorting hat will decide your future house: What's your Hogwarts house?
We'll do a Book of the Month in April and it will be a mystery. We'll open the suggestion thread for it at the end of February or the beginning of March, so you can already start to think about a title :)

25% Check Point
If you're not on tracks or are just joining, don't worry, there are several short categories to help catch up a little. Participating to our April read-a-thon can also be a good idea to improve your reading time (see the Mar 14 post above).
Happy Easter, with plenty of chocolate and books :)

June is coming and, with it, the suggestions for the 2017 list. You can start to think of some you'd like to suggest, so you'll be ready for the launch. We'll work as last year with the suggestion topics and then the polls, posted every other week or something like this.
May the 4th be with you. And have fun with your books, of course :)

A new poll is open to think a little about what we'll want in the 2017 list: Poll .
Feel free to complete your answer under the poll ;)

We'll do a Book of the Month in August and it will be a Young Adult book (which is also category #31 in the challenge). The suggestion thread will open soon :)

https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/1...
Just to not lose people in the process: Goodreads update will come sooner or later and, for the moment, it's scheduled that the Discussions tab will disappear from the home page. Another quick way to have access to the Discussions page is: Profile Icon (navigation top bar)> My Discussions

So, we'll read The Graveyard Book for the August Book of the Month. If you have access to audiobooks, we highly recommend this version (as a re-read, a discovery or a listening while you turn the inked pages). As usual, we'll open the discussion topics on August 1st and the read will start at the same time :)

Sept 2: the poll for the October Book of the Month is open: https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/1...
Please vote for your pick by September 15.
Please vote for your pick by September 15.

Halloween is coming soon, so we are ready for the scary read of the month. The Halloween Tree won the poll, so we'll read it in October. As usual the discussions will be posted at the beginning of October, but feel free to keep the book for the pumpkin-lighted week.
Oct 6: Mods were recently informed that some GR users may be using groups to scam users. Just as a reminder, this group would never ask its members for personal information, including bank account info. If you receive any such message, please report it to Goodreads as spam.

Thanks to all for the participation, it was fun :)

• The 2017 Plans folder will open on November 1.
• The A-Z and Progress Posts for 2017 will open on January 1.
• The challenge progress bar for 2016 will be removed from the group on January 8.

Nov 3: The poll for the December Book of the Month is open: https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/1...
Please vote for your pick by November 17.
Please vote for your pick by November 17.

- The Book of the month for December is The Lies of Locke Lamora (fantasy). As usual, you have 2 months to read it (if you finish it in January, you can count it for the 2017 challenge). The next book of the month will be in February and we'll have new categories for the year.
- The 2017 Popsugar Reading Challenge was announced on Nov 17. You can pick one of the categories for #11 if you want or do both challenges if you're a big reader (post the list in the Infinity and Beyond folder).
Popsugar Challenge
- A new poll is available to tell us since how long you're doing yearly reading challenges with categories:
https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/1...
If you already chose your book for the "GR Choice Award 2017" category, tell us which one here:
https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/1...
If you're joining us for 2017, check the other polls :)
- Reminder: the next read-a-thon is scheduled for November 28th.

- If you haven't posted your 2016 books in the A-Z folders, please do it soon, as we'll start the 2017 discussions on January 1 and don't want things all mixed up.
- The list of suggestions is mostly finished, check it if you're working on your 2017 plan and need ideas or explanations:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
- 2 new polls about your 2017 year:
https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/1...
https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/1...
- As the end of the year is coming, we'll post in the next weeks the 4th quarter awards and the Top 10 favorites of the year ;)
