Max was just walking through the forest during the evening, enjoying the slight breeze.

Kat entered the lovely forest. It was always so nice here, and she enjoyed finding monsters to challenge. They helped her improve her skills.

Max was sitting high in a tree reading a book.

Kat, for some unknown reason, just happened to look up into a tree. And for some reason, there was a girl sitting there, reading. Kat doubted the girl would see her, but it was always worth a shot. She aimed a little wave in the girl's direction and continued walking.

Out of the corner if her eye, Max saw a girl wave. She closed her book and waved. She quickly climbed down the tree and hopped onto the ground.

Kat was slightly surprised by the girl's actions. She couldn't be coming down to say hello. No one wanted to associate themselves with a child of Ares. She was probably just coming down to go back to her cabin. Kat just continued walking forward, unsure what to do in the situation.

Max caught up to the girl. "Hey, you're Kat right?" She asked the girl.

Kat gave a short nod. Apparently this girl didn't mind being with a child of Ares. "And you're Max, right?" She asked. Her footsteps were evenly spaced and quick.

"Yeah, I've seen you around camp, you're a great fighter," she said

Kat chuckled and broke a rare smile. "Thanks." She muttered quietly. "And you are decent with magic, right?"

"Yeah," she replied.

Kat nodded. She continued on her walk, with her quick steps. Her smile had only lasted for a minute, so it was gone now. Kat could tell things were going to get awkward soon. She raked her brain for something to say, but, with her being shy, nothing came to mind, so she continued her walk in silence.

"So, uh, I'm a pretty bad fighter. I was wondering if you could maybe help me?" She asked awkwardly.

Kat shot her an odd look. What on earth was going on? No one came to her for help. Ever. She stopped walking and turned to face the girl. "What do I get in return?" It was Kat's policy to only give when she got. It just so happened to be the way she was.

"Uh, in return? I'll do your kitchen duty," she said

Kat slowly sent her head backwards a few inches. No kitchen duty. It sounded pretty good. "Is there a certain weapon you need help with?" Kat asked, giving in.

"Swords. I suck at fighting with a sword," she said

Kat nodded. "Swords it is then. You wanna go now? Or do you want to return to your book?"

"My book can wait, let's go to the arena," Max said thankful that Kat had actually agreed. Unfortunately she would have to do kitchen duty.
