1st book in the 5th Wave series.

Great time to start this book! The movie comes out in January :)

I loved the first one and just picked up the. second! I'm excited to read it

I should be able to start this Monday. need to finish up the one I am in this weekend.

Is this book like The Host? I sure hope not

I'm on chapter 45 and it is definitely better than I was anticipating. (view spoiler)[ I'm still creeped out by the alien idea but who wouldn't be? And there is a lot to be sad about which isn't my favorite feeling BUT I do like the possible twists that might be happening - the human involvement - has this all been done by humans not aliens or are there really aliens inside the humans controlling them and have been there for years? Interesting.. (hide spoiler)]

I am nearing the end of the book about 90% done. I don't love it. It is similar to the host, which I hated, but better. I don't hate this book but I don't think it is my cup of tea.
I will still read the next book.
and who knows maybe this will have a kick butt ending that will turn my world upside down

I agree now that I finished this last night. (view spoiler)[ The theme reminds me of the Dark Minds trilogy, teens left to save the world and all, which I didn't hate but thought this might be a bit different. I look forward to the next because at this point, I'm at least curious to figure out what the actual truth is - I didn't read The Host and don't think I will. (hide spoiler)]

I'm glad you told me how bad The Host was - now I don't have to worry about getting this one in eventually. Isn't there a movie about it too? Have you seen it?

I will continue on to the next book. but I don't think aliens are my thing. Well except the Lux series, I liked those aliens.

Has anyone read The Infinite Sea? I just finished it.

I haven't started it yet. I have a couple other books I need to finish first, but I have it in my grubby little hands.

Lindsay, how did you like the second one? I had mixed feelings about this one.

I liked it, I'm still intrigued to find out what's really going on.

I liked it, too. It didn't have the same impact that the first book had...maybe because it was shorter and there just wasn't as much time. I thought the story progressed well and I was glad we learned more about other characters. If we had stuck with Cassie the whole time I would have gotten bored. But it also felt like some of it was filler.

I'm interested to see how it ends up. I'm a little worried this is going to be one of those series that shouldn't have been a trilogy. The first book was a bit slow at first and I thought that could have been condensed, so adding to it some of the filler in this book, makes me wonder...

The 5th Wave...imagine it being crossed over with Independence Day: Ressurgence. lol

I am so far behind I need to get this read.....But by waiting I can now read and use in the creature challenge!
