Q Endgame (The Calling), by James Frey is about 12 individuals (players) who have to fight one another in order to save the world. The book starts off with two players who live in different parts of the world: Sarah Alopay and Jago Tlaloc. As they are going on with their lives, a meteor strikes in both of their home towns; they both survive. Along with those two strikes there were also ten more across the world destroying each city they hit. Sarah, Jago and the other players each knew that meant Endgame had started. These players were all chosen for Endgame and now must fight one another, but only one will win, ultimately saving the world. Save the world from what? Read the book to find out. I really enjoyed reading this book, because it was similar to Hunger Games. I was also always excited to read more; I never got bored. I did not really have a best moment, but I would have to say where they fight one another. The worst moment was the ending, because it makes you want to read more, but you have to get the other book to continue. Before reading the book, I expected it to not be good, but it actually had me not wanting to stop reading. It was not what I expected it to be at all, because I always wanted to read more to see what would happen. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes the Hunger Games series, because it’s really similar.
