Hi.
I've published my book on Amazon again - this time I've added some design and made all the pages "illustrations" It looks perfect now on any device!
But!!!
When I saw the preview on Amazon - it shows an old version - 2 months old, before all the great changes! (I've waited for 12 hours, the book is at the status "live" now)


Then I uploaded a small pdf file to serve as a preview on Goodreads - twice! And still when I click on my book - "No preview available".
Oh, come on!!! I'm on these two problems since yesterday!!! Surely if the problem was updating time - a whole day should suffice?

If anybody has the enough Goodreads level to edit my book - please help me! Also help me with a mistake - for some reason Goodreads thinks I wrote 2 completely same books - one of them must be deleted!

Yeah, only Amazon can fix the preview that I know of. No idea why your preview won't take on goodreads. As for the book, contact Goodreads and they'll link the other book to your account.

Amazon may be having trouble with its preview updates again. Earlier this year I uploaded a new file for one of my books and had to wait a couple of months before it finally showed in the preview. When I contacted Amazon, they could say only that they were working to fix the problem. Not all books were affected, and it seemed random. My guess is that if it's been two months since you uploaded, the problem has returned. For any Goodreads problem you can contact a Goodreads librarian here: https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/3...

My update:
1. Amazon "Look inside" will be updated within a week after I've uploaded the last updated version (two days ago).
2. Goodreads Preview doesn't work because they've made a preview available only for US citizens. I didn't get all the details, but since I am not a US citizen anyway... Goodreads makes a connection with Kindle to allow previews. Well, my book IS on Kindle, so I guess I'm not giving up on this issue just yet!

Please, people, follow my 3 links in the post and tell me whether you see a different picture? Because what if US citizens do see the previews, and I don't?..

What I'm seeing: Google looks complete (nice decorative enhancements); the UK version does not, it starts with the word "unfortunate" and 2 pictures of Evelyn; and on Goodreads I cannot preview it (it says no preview available) and I'm in the US.

I'm in the UK and the Amazon UK Look inside is all wrong, it is skipping from the cover to a page with the 2 pictures and the text "unfortunate" as ML says above.

The Goodreads link looks like the right cover. But I don't see any link about the preview so am not sure where I should be looking for that.

You need to contact Amazon and list the issues. It takes a bit of digging through the 'help' section to find, but there is a form to fill out and send back. They are good with working out issues and fairly prompt. My preview for Touching Spirits was, at one point, showing 70 pages and they resolved it quickly.

Hi Sophia, in Amazon Look Inside I see the cover, then the next page starts with the two illustrated vignettes on either side of text which begins with "unfortunate" as previously described.

Following this I am able to view six chapters. These pages load slowly but they do load.

The last page ends with the text "... wanda alone like tha'?"

As for Goodreads, the "Read Book" button under the cover of your book page opens to "No preview available." I suggest you contact a Goodreads Librarian to see if they can help.

For Amazon, submit a support ticket to KDP. You can get there by logging into your KDP account clicking "Help" in the upper right hand corner and then the "Contact Us" button at the very bottom (under all the links) of the left hand column.

I'm no technician or social media expert but these problems appear to be intimidating, especially for new authors like me.

Yes, I'll contact Goodreads and Amazon, I'll give them a week as they said the preview is updated within a week after uploading...

Nolan, don't worry, you should still try all the tools and web-sites available to get your book out there!

KDP is currently having major issues with the "Look Inside" feature. One of my books, which was fine all year, suddenly changed the Look Inside without any updates from me, and it's horribly garbled now. I've contacted their support team, and my query is being escalated to their tech team.

On a couple of other books that I updated, the old Look Inside is still showing. At least it's not garbled, though...

I am happy to hear that my problems with Look inside and viewing an upload to Goodreads are shared with someone. I am new at this and wondered what I had done wrong! Thanks for giving me my confidence back.

After a dozen of apology letters once every couple of weeks since November - my preview is finally NOT messed up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
