Zara's Retreat | 2365 comments Suggested break down of reading so that you can check in and let us know how you're going. The following breakdown is purely a suggestion and is therefore not set in stone.

Rather than putting dates for each section I've done it so that it takes into account that not everybody will necessarily have the book at the same time.

Week 1: 84 pages
Week 2: 84 pages
Week 3: 84 pages
Week 4: 84 pages

Awesome ^^ Have fun on your trip! I'm going to Poland, Krakow myself, it's my first time there and I'm trying to learn polish, so I'm exited ^^

Talk to you when you get back :)

Siewjye Chow (ssjye) | 54 comments Hey I am back from Burma! I have read 2 books and around 30 pages of Dracula during the trip. I am surprised I even read that much while I travel. I got the Dracula book under Wordsworth Classic and the book cover crept me so much while i was alone in my hostel room. I kept the cover facing down whenever I paused reading it because honestly the inn in Burma was somehow creepy too. I was doing backpacking so I was traveling with budget. I am still on Jonathan Harker's journal and I am really excited to know what will happen next. I feel sorry for him though now that he kind of realised he was imprisoned and in danger.

Have fun in Krakow too! Poland that is awesome!! I wish I will be able to travel to Europe too. I have met a few friends from Netherlands and Germany during my traveling. I hope you have amazing time!

Back from Krakow :) It was amazing! A lot to see and of course the added benefit of getting to practice Polish was awesome!

I'm from Norway, so it wasn't far :)

I tried to finish another book before starting Dracula, but it is so long (the other one), so I finally just started. I am not so far into it because of that, just on second chapter, but so far it is very good! I am exited for what's gonna happen!

Winter (winter9) | 5003 comments Sounds like your trip was great (and a little creepy):)
Do you travel much?

Siewjye Chow (ssjye) | 54 comments Ohh Norway =) I am currently reading Norwegian Wood by Karuki Murakami but well it is nothing about Norway though. That's cool where you are from.

Yes I did travel to a few cities and met a really nice European backpacker. It was nice experience.

I am also reading two books currently. =)

Winter (winter9) | 5003 comments Where do you live?

I'm always in the middle of many, but those on my kindle get most attention :)

Siewjye Chow (ssjye) | 54 comments I live in Malaysia. Ohh I wish I have a Kindle but it is not sold and supported in Malaysia.

I know little of Malaysia, where is it? Is it warm?

It isn't directly sold here either, can't you order from amazon? Or it is actually sold here now, but only one place, they send them out, but that's very new.

Siewjye Chow (ssjye) | 54 comments Malaysia is not in the Amazon in terms of shipping and purchasing. Yes it is directly connected below Thailand. It is a tropical country and it is hot and rainy all year along. If you did notice about the news of the major airplane disappearance last year (Disappearance of flight MH370) you would know about Malaysia.

Singapore is our neighbour and it is actually sold in Singapore. I have been considering to buy it from Singapore but I am still not sure about the after sales usage. Like will the kindle edition books be available if I use it in Malaysia. That will need some further study. =) Anyway, I read from physical books ad the books in Malaysia are kind of overpriced and bookstore chains are not as wide as in other countries which I totally envy.

Hm I think you could send a mail and ask amazon? They should know and they have fast service.

For me kindle is absolutely a must now. I have an shoulder injury, so holding books are hard. Still read hardbacks and such, but it's more like 5 pages at a time :P

Winter (winter9) | 5003 comments How are you doing? :)

I have had a little less time to read than I wanted. I'm 17 % in now. Coming up some days now with more time I think.

I really like this one!! I think it is so well written and whenever I pick it up it holds my attention. What do you think?

Siewjye Chow (ssjye) | 54 comments Hello! I am doing fine. I am at about 25% of the book now.
I am reading Mina's Journal. I have been reading other books for a team challenge a line with this book.

message 20: by Winter, Group Reads (new) - rated it 4 stars

Winter (winter9) | 5003 comments I do! I love watching movie when finished reading a book too, so I will do that too.

Yes! I read the part with the storm yesterday. Today I will have more time I think to read more, looking forward to it!

Winter (winter9) | 5003 comments Coming near to 30 % and it is definetely getting exiting! I have read quite some books written at the same time this year, but this seems fresher somehow. I'm usually not fan of the letterthing, but it match the story so well!

Ohh so do I. I don't like the letter thing as well. it's confusing me and the personnel involved. Yep let's watch the movie, Keanu Reeves is inside =)

Winter (winter9) | 5003 comments Nice I'm looking forward to see how they have made it into a movie. I am reading some more about the weird patient now, can't really place him in the story yet, but I guess it will become clear later:)

Winter (winter9) | 5003 comments Not a good weekend for reading, how was yours?

Siewjye Chow (ssjye) | 54 comments I have just passed the 200 page mark. STill my plan to finish it over the weekend failed. =P

message 28: by Winter, Group Reads (new) - rated it 4 stars

Winter (winter9) | 5003 comments You are a little longer than me then, hoping to have more time today, at least to read a little, we were away all weekend :)

Siewjye Chow (ssjye) | 54 comments Hi Winter, How are you doing? I plan to finish up the book tonight =) So far it is far too exciting i think I am 70 pages to the end.

By the way, will you be doing buddy read next month? Any books in mind?

message 30: by Winter, Group Reads (new) - rated it 4 stars

Winter (winter9) | 5003 comments Hi:) I finished up another book this morning too be able to focus just on Dracula. Today I can finally use the evening to read I think, so should be able to read a lot :) I am around 60% into it.

I have participated in waay to many challenges this year, so for he rest of my year the books I read will be tied to them and they are already picked to fit into as many as possible.

I know I will read:

The Little Friend, Donna Tartt
A Christmas Carol (it's already a buddy read free for joining :) )

I should also read:
The Book Thief, Marcus Zusak
I, Robot, Isaac Asimov
Snow Like Ashes

I know now finishing all challenges will be probably impossible, it's 20 books.. But with these listed I will finish some :)

Siewjye Chow (ssjye) | 54 comments I also took up many challenges. And yet some to-read books are not read yet.
Is buddy read meant for only 2 person? Yes i would love to read A Christmas Carol

Siewjye Chow (ssjye) | 54 comments And The book thief is amazing! It's one of my gem!

No there's two types of "reading together" as far as I know.
Buddy reads - 2 or more persons want to read the same book
Twin - You sign up, get matched with a person and you two decide a book to read from the TBR-list :)

Siewjye Chow (ssjye) | 54 comments I have finished reading the book last night. The ending was too quick and rather simple. I actually expected more. I would rather see The Count to suffer more. I hope it is not too crazy to say that. But it is really an amazing classic which everyone should read especially horror lovers. This book is the beginning of all vampire's fantasy and novels. I am deeply impressed by the author. I like the book so much but i am totally a loser when coming to write a review or my thoughts. How is your progress?

message 36: by Winter, Group Reads (new) - rated it 4 stars

Winter (winter9) | 5003 comments Going well, under 100 pages left:) I'm not too good on reviews either, no worry:)

I love it too, really good classic!

Winter (winter9) | 5003 comments Finished!

Did you think it ended maybe a bit too fast?

Siewjye Chow (ssjye) | 54 comments Absolutely!!! Like I would like to see the Count suffer more. Haha.. well maybe in the movie.

Winter (winter9) | 5003 comments Hi! have you watched the movie yet?
I have to wait until my boyfriend is home one evening, because I get too scared on my own. Excited for the new year! Are you? I think there will be many great books and fun challenges.
