Kristian Hall | 4 comments Hi,

I came accross this group after reading How to Get Honest Reviews by Shelley Hitz and Heather Hart.

I am a very active reader, carrying my Kindle around wherever I go. I read everything; I started out reading the classics when I was a youth, but as I got older (I'm 38 now) I started reading fantasy and science fiction more and more. Currently, I find myself reading a lot of indie science fiction and post-apocalyptic books.

My all time favorite author has to be Hermann Hesse, and some of his books had a life-changing effect on me (in a very positive direction).

When I was 14 years old, I lost my father, and my sorrow gradually became deep depression, which lasted 11 years. After this, I spent a decade researching what works when you want to exit depression. This eventually became a book, published in Norwegian (I am Norwegian) in January. The book was a success, and I decided to get it translated into English; titled Rise from Darkness.

I am constantly looking for new books to read, so joining this group this will be a great possibility to broaden my reader horizon. I hope I can find some new friends here as well :)

This is my Goodreads Author page: Kristian Hall

Alisha ‘Priti’ Kirpalani (alisha_kirpalani) Kudos to you Kristian. I am sure your father will be smiling down upon you. Love the idea of the book since I write a lot about the thought processes and grey side of people. I will check it out :)

Sacha Haughtee | 1 comments Hi I'm Sacha Haughtee I NEVER thought that I'd co-author ANY book, least of all a memoir of my early adult years.
Escort: The True Story of an Orange County Call Girl My favorite client (Max, who really is an Engineer) started to write down all the weird events and humorous outtakes from our meetings, and before long, we had hundreds of pages. This is how our first book came to be. It's called: "Escort: The True Story of an Orange County Call Girl."

Here's my favorite excerpt:

"If only I knew at the time that this day would be the point of no return, that once a girl crosses certain moral and personal boundaries, there's no going back." XXXOOO, Sacha Haughtee

The preview on Goodreads is at:

Katrina Ariel (katrina_ariel) | 1 comments Hi all! I'm excited to find this group, as I have a love of people who take the time to write reviews, and this looks like a wonderful place to connect. I'm the author of two self-published non-fiction books, including Yoga for Dragon Riders, and have just begun querying agents for a fantasy-romance fiction series.

I'm hoping to connect with like-hearted lovers of books here, and am actively looking for reviewers for my non-fiction books. If you enjoy yoga and its philosophy, please connect with me! I'm happy to provide free copies for bloggers and reviewers, and am available for interviews.

I do write but haven't anything published. However I do love to read and enjoy reviewing books. I've been reviewing books for Curiosity Quills Press since October.

I am willing to accept ARC's in exchange for honest reviews. I will read romance, young adult, sci-fi, fantasy, adventure, paranormal, supernatural and I will also read children's books too.
I have a Kobo Glo eReader and a Kindle App on my computer, however I would prefer to use my Glo so if you can provide me with the proper epub format, that would be awesome.

My name is Leo and I'm a self published author who lives in Wales.
I'd like to think of my novel 'Old Country' as the greatest Italian crime novel ever written by a Welshman, though I admit there is scant opposition.
Am fairly new to Goodreads and trying miserably to get to grips with this mysterious world of blogging and the like.
Happy to hear from anyone who can help me utilise Goodreads to its full potential and teach me the ways of this new world!

My name's Nia - I'm a diehard reader and reviewer, I mostly read fantasy/horror/mystery books but I'm definitely not fussy! I love trying new genres and am always open to suggestions.

I started a blog in the middle of last year to record my books a little better and it's taken on a life of its own - I'm really enjoying interacting with authors and other readers rather than (and while) hiding in my batcave with a book all the time.

I look forward to getting to know you!

message 78: by Tim (new)

Tim Patten | 1 comments Hi, my name is Tim and I'm new. I've written a gay themed autobiography under the pen name, Todd Peterson and would love someone to review it. My Razzle Dazzle: An Outsider's True Story

One readers review: "Peterson has written something that could be an honest relief to many. He recounts a difficult childhood – from being teased for playing with girls to far worse experiences as he grew older. On top of that, his story takes place in the Midwest where I grew up.

This is something that isn’t in the popular narrative of queer literature. Nobody really talks about the places where the same kind of harassment Peterson talks about still happens. Because where I am in Iowa, it might as well still be the 1970′s. Sleepy little towns still see plenty of us “different” folk being teased or at the very least stared at. For instance, I’ve been kicked out of a barber shop at least once within the last 7 years just for asking for a hair cut."

I can send reviewers a PDF in exchange for a review.

Tim / Todd

Liz (lizdurano) | 3 comments Hi! I'm Liz. I first joined Goodreads as a reader but am now an author as well. I saw the question about negative reviews are and thought I'd introduce myself first before commenting on that thread.

I primarily write chick lit and romantic fiction and my novel, Loving Ashe, straddles both those genres, as well as my latest novel, A Collateral Attraction, which is romantic suspense (with a lot of chick lit elements). I always welcome reviews of my books and interested folks can send me a pm any time to request a copy.

And you need that attention don't you. You need to fell wanted, you need to feel attractive, you need to feel that you are the centre of their universe.
So would you risk your best friends soul?

I'm Jess, both author and reader. I have published two fantasy novels, but am working on a black comedy before my series finale. I also have a penchant for academic books, because I love a good evidence-based opinion. :)

Look forward to chatting!

Ha. Hiya! I'm J. I also also wik suck at social media which is not at all a way to make friends with my publicist. So in an effort to cull her wrath and chaos, I am attempting to branch out.
There's quite a few quirks I'll own up to (upon request) the least of which being that I released my debut sci-fi in December. Go me!
I'm more often than not a colorful, energetic person who enjoys diversity as much as breathing. It's unlikely that I'll be uncivil at any point in time, so if you review me and determine my work to be sub-par, fear not.
I most appreciate the open-minded, exotic, and enthusiastic. That being said, I'm always available to joke around or learn something new about you (in a strictly non-stalkery way of course)
