Ailsa (ailsacf) | 2 comments If anyone is still looking for translations, Richard Lattimore had a very readable version - he makes a lot of it rhyme, which I liked. (I've read several different translations, but this is my favourite, the rhyming just makes it funnier.)

Haha :)

Katrina (katrinasreads) I read David Barrett's version, what a funny little play. I loved the chorus.

Samantha | 1 comments Heracles: What sort of desire, little brother?
Dionysus: You wouldn't understand. Let me put it this way. Have you ever had a sudden craving for...pea soup?
Heracles: Are you serious? When do I NOT have a craving for pea soup?

Anna (annarj) | 2 comments This was so much fun! I enjoyed the writing flourish much more in this than in The Bacchae. I think Aristophanes is a better writer than his influences. :) And I can see where Shakespeare took some of his inspiration from. Great to connect some of these literary and theatrical dots.
