brooke1994 (formerlynarnian525) | 679 comments Yeah lol. Here's another question:
What do you think of the HBO show Game of Thrones? Personally, I don't think it's suitable for Christians and I think true Christians should steer clear of it because of all the nudity in it. I know I'm not the overall judge and I can't control what people watch, and I even like some fantasy, even Harry Potter, but I never like it before God and just look at it just for fun. I don't get into Harry Potter just for wanting to be a witch I get into it for the friendship and imagination. Game of Thrones is really explicit and I have no clue why some Christians like it, because I have heard of some who have no problem with it. Those who aren't Christian don't know any better, those who are Christian should know better. So, I'd like to hear your thoughts. Do you like Game of Thrones? Or do you avoid it?

message 59: by M.K., Creator And Moderator 🎉 (new)

M.K. Aneal (mkaneal) | 6178 comments Mod
Good question girl *handclaps* And honestly, I avoid game of thrones like the plague. Haha. I don't really even know much about it because I've heard it did have some innaproriate things in it. Oh, I readily agree ((; Right on. I'm very particular of what I watch/read/listen to because I know how much it does effect us. And so called Christians nowadays want to say its okay because they don't take it to heart, but they don't realize that our minds are a special gift, and watching things like that violates us as well as the Lord Jesus. God said to come out from among the world, and TV plays a major, saddening role in society. I totally agree with you (: Being a Christian is a gift but that means we have to accept that change, and sometimes, many times, that means giving up things that others enjoy, because we are truly different ;D :D

message 60: by brooke1994 (new)

brooke1994 (formerlynarnian525) | 679 comments Yeah, I've heard there's a lot of inappropriate scenes in Game of Thrones, I'm fine with sex in a marriage, because God established it that way, but not any of the non marriage bad stuff lol. My cousin Julia, who's also a baptized Christian, watches it and so does Thea, my best friend. Thea isn't Christian so she's not going to be careful with what she watches, however I was really shocked to find out my cousin likes the show as a Christian. I do feel that nudity is ok in a marriage between a man and a woman, but not to flash around on a show. That's an unnecessary ingredient. It's only in there to make money.

message 61: by M.K., Creator And Moderator 🎉 (new)

M.K. Aneal (mkaneal) | 6178 comments Mod
Oh yes!! Exactly!! I totally agree! Of course that special thing was created for a man and wife in a marriage, but not for others to see. Especially sad now because those shows and such have perverted kids and unmarried people's views of such. It was special, when the time comes, but not for TV consummation. Very sad its turned like that. Aw, yeah. I know many people who have shocked me with things like that and it hurts, I'm sure you know, cause its like you lose a little respect for them. We all make mistakes yes, but we are not to continually do the same mistakes when we are aware of better. Sad. Right on my friend!! Right on!

message 62: by brooke1994 (new)

brooke1994 (formerlynarnian525) | 679 comments I actually think Julia and Thea might be into Game of Thrones to fit in with the HBO crowd. I won't point out their mistakes to them in a critical way, but I will post Bible verses and devotions in a truthful yet loving way so they can see what God has to say on this topic. Maybe Julia hasn't read any Bible Verses about our bodies being the temple of God, and anyway it's crazy that the show has gotten away with all of the nude scenes.

message 63: by M.K., Creator And Moderator 🎉 (new)

M.K. Aneal (mkaneal) | 6178 comments Mod
Gotcha! Yeah, I've noticed that many good hearted people are natural followers and go with the crowd. While that could be a blessing in good crowds, and following Jesus, but with bad company and so much social sites, its not a good thing at all. Amen, that's right on! Usually when you are a Christian convictions come naturally, but, some people choose to ignore them. That's the best way, most definitely!! We will keep praying for them <3 ;)

Yeah, so true!! Its overly shocking!! Just a few years back many thongs on tv would have been taken off air, but sadly the world has all went together in a downward spiral and there is not enough Christians who will stand up against it. For instance, just a while ago saying the Lord's name in vain was not allowed, but now many of the movies that hit theatres have it in there many times. Its sad, and keeps me from the movie theatre. Haha. But yeah. Very sad.

It's very good to see someone with such a good, deep outlook!! That's wonderful my friend <3 Never lose that!!

message 64: by brooke1994 (new)

brooke1994 (formerlynarnian525) | 679 comments Thanks Mary Kate :) I appreciate your nice compliment. I know I need to learn to respect other people's opinions in tv too, the main thing is people should make sure that they're not going to idolize what they watch or actually think they want to do it in real life.

Haha, you are very welcome my friend ((:
Ah, I hear that all the time. And, I realize we are not to live life judging others, but helping console and lead others when they are in the wrong is not wrong in the least. We are human and its normal for us to see what is wrong. No, you shouldn't condemn someone, but I know you are not doing that, you just want to help them and there is nothing wrong with that (; It would be wrong if you were doing the same thing and then telling them but you are not, and simply want the best for them (; God told us not to judge in the hopes we would lead others to Christ and realize the change occurs after salvation, but it does not include leading and consoling <3
You sound like you are helping, not harming ((:

message 66: by brooke1994 (new)

brooke1994 (formerlynarnian525) | 679 comments Thanks, it's my goal to help my cousin Julia and my friend Thea in the way God leads. Julia told me she enjoys Game of Thrones for its fantasy storyline and that's fine, I just hope she doesn't dwell on the nudity in it. I know some people say if nudity is such a big deal why did God create us naked? The answer is simple: it becomes a sin when it's used in the wrong context. To me there's no need to put graphic content into fantasy because that's like saying: Oh sorry, we don't think this is going to sell if we don't include a dash of explicit content. It downgrades it. They didn't put all that in Narnia, LOTR or Harry Potter, which I appreciate.

((:
True true. Sad thing is, Hollywood wants to pervert our minds like theirs are perverted. Yes God created us without clothes because it was not a sin to be without clothes, but we as humans are flawed and think evil in our mind. When God sent Adam and Eve out of the garden they walked out with clothes. Haha. Its not that our bodies are sin, but rather our minds are easy to do so. Sadly, whether we think on it or not, its still upon our minds. Just pray she realizes God hand. †

M.K. Aneal (mkaneal) | 6178 comments Mod
Amen!! That's a perfect idea :D ;D I'll pray too <3

I sure do!!!!! I love that question ;D My name Mary, was after my Grandma Mary. I only knew her for about six years, but she left one of the biggest legacies anyone ever has <3 And my name Kate was after my mother, Kathy. Dad says he wanted it to be, 'Mary Kathy,' but Mom just wouldn't have that, so we had to change it to Kate ((; They say God named me, and Dad will tell how a few months before I was born he got mad with his Mom and was in the shower one night ranting how he was not naming me after her. Suddenly he heard God tell him that he, in fact, was going to name me after her! Haha ((: My Grandma loved it so much, they say she would take me everywhere stopping people she knew to tell them I was her granddaughter who was named after her! Haha ((; Its such an honor to be named after two godly women, those women are most definitely some of my most loved people in the entire world <3 God really blessed me ((: I hope I can live up to those beautiful names.

And I cannot tell you how many times people have asked me if I was named after Mary Kate and Ashely Olsen *cough* NO!!!! *cough* Hahaha :P

And people have also been like, "Mary Kate, what's your middle name?"
Reply: "Um, its um... its Kate..."
Haha xP xD

brooke1994 (formerlynarnian525) | 679 comments Aww thanks :) A lot of people like the name Rachel. I was named after my aunt Rachel, on my grandparents side of the family, she was good friends with my mom. I never met her because she passed away before I was born, but she was a great person from what I heard. She loved horses and she was a great listener, my mom told me. So yeah :3

@Rachel- Aw!!!! That's so beautiful!!!! How sweet :D Well, it sounds like you are just like her ((; That's such a gift! <3

@JoAlice- Mmm!! Making me hungry ((; *stomach growls* Okay, for peanut butter- probably creamy JIF. Its so textured and delish! Hehe. And Jelly... Hmm... No seeded Welsh's ((': It has a unique, but simple flavor ((;

@Si- Ahhhh!!! Pulling out the scary questions, huh? That's okay, scary questions are my favorite ((; Hehe.

Okay, most embarrassing moment coming right up:
Its actually between three different stories...
One when I was in (Kindergarten or...) 1st grade. Me and my friend went to the bathroom to wash out paint brushes. She finished cleaning hers before I, (probably because I am obsessive when it comes to cleaning.) So, she heads back to the room. Meanwhile, I'm just happily cleaning my paintbrushes, I hear the toilet (that always gave trouble) making a terrible ruckus. But, I'm too busy cleaning my paint brushes to notice. I should've. After a few moments pass I look over to see the toilet overflowing! I grab up those paintbrushes and rush back down the short hall to class, running at full speed. Wrong idea. The water has already made it under my feet, (take into fact this hall was very small,) and suddenly my feet give way. I remember falling, and looking up into my open class door seeing all my classmates with a scared, disgusted, yet amused look. I feel flat back into the toilet water. And to make it all worth a red face, I had a skirt on... Scary... Good thing I was young, so at least I've had time to forget most of it xP xD Hahahaha

Second Embarrassing Moment:
When I was about 10 or so, I walked, and changed in a boy's changing room, at a clothing store. Worse thing was there was actually boys in there, but I had not noticed them in my fish until I came out, and my Dad pointed it out to me *awkward*

And....

Third Embarrassing Moment:

When I was about thirteen or so I become quite fond of this one boy. So, me being an, ‘act fast,’ type of person, decided to text him. It was a simple message, not worthy to note. All of a sudden, moments later, I got a text replying, but strangely, from his Mom's phone. I was also quite close with his mother, so imagined she had saw the text and was joking around with me. I felt quite awkward, however, and embarrassed I was joked. So, I replied to her telling how it was good to talk to her, humorly.

Not but a moment later I was alerted she had messaged back, but this message was much different than I was expecting. It stated that this was not his mother, but, in fact the boy I intended to talk to. I was quite wondering now about her own sanity, but replied again with some jokes as such applied. Suddenly, the phone started ringing violently, so I did what we all would, I answered nervously. His voice was sharp and hurt as he spoke, “I am not my Mom! I am me!!” He was quite hurt as he explained his phone had been damaged where he could not text, but, he was allowed to use his mother's to text. He was partially yelling, but not in a mean way, just in a hurt, bothered way.
I felt so bad, so embarrassed, so I just said, "Um...." He kept talking but soon as I got too embarrassed I said, "Uhh, sorry. I gotta go... Bye..."

Later on I could find the hilariousness of the situation and enjoy it, but now I was worried I had bothered him with my jokes. And so very embarrassed xO xP xD

Magnus Mk I have a tough question for you.

What is the best way to talk to a complete stranger?

message 95: by M.K., Creator And Moderator 🎉 (new)

M.K. Aneal (mkaneal) | 6178 comments Mod
Yay!!!! Questions!!! I love you guys *cheers*

Okay, I will reply with two comments, since my phone is having problems xP

Rachel's- Yay!! That's a good one :D It sure does!! Okay, so, when I first started a GR, was the first time I was intrigued by the word 'inspire.' I looked up colorful profile photos, and one with the that word came up. I placed it on here, then started wondering what 'inspiration' really meant... I prayed... studied.... then, out of the blue, it was explained to me. I thought of all the apostles in the Bible who wrote when they hurt, always serving God! That was true INSPIRATION! So, from that point my prayer and request to the Lord was that I would inspire people to follow, and know Jesus Christ, which is the only source of inspiration! <3
;D xD :D
So, therefore why I always have/ and will keep that word as my word for life, and profile word as well ((: To remind me and the people who meet me, that I have a specific purpose here ;D

M.K. Aneal (mkaneal) | 6178 comments Mod
Si's- That is a tough one xD xP But, lemme just say that it is a perfect time for it ;P

Okay so... It really matters what type of stranger... I actually have been working toward talking to a complete stranger, that I have saw many times in a store I frequently visit. I could never make myself talk to him, despite my ache that I should. I was totally upset at myself, to the point I was driving myself mad. So, the other morning I had just told the Lord that I was done acting so obsessive. If I was supposed to talk to him, it would just happen where I could talk to him. Period. So, I gave it to God, completely and utterly.
I went in the store yesterday, and was weaving through a crowd, when I heard someone behind me. I turned around to see him. I barely voiced my apology for being in his way, then he just smiled and told me that it wasn't a problem at all (; I at least got to so called, 'talk to him,' even if but a few words. It just goes to show that if it is God's will to talk to someone- it'll happen.
So, the best way would have to be, just not to fret over it. That's hard for me cause I like to say I have people problems. Well, kinda. Everyone says I am an extrovert who loves to talk, but that's not necessarily true. When it comes to certain people, I just can't talk. Maybe from my worries that they will think I'm a nut, or the fact they just scare me xP Haha. Either way, it's hard.
So, it really matters the person. I have started conversations with a simple, "Hi, how are you?" Or, "Wow, have you seen the weather today?" Haha. Usually involving the person is a great way. Whether asking them something, or just maintaining eye contact. Or, asking them if they need help. But, above all, never forget that they are just human like you, and they can't eat you. The more you talk to people, the better you will get at it. Start with, "Hi," and say what comes to the heart <3 I totally know how scary talking to a complete stranger can be, *coughs* But know how special you are first, and knowing that makes it easier so you are not so scared ((;
Or, you could always do what I did and just get in that person's way, and then say sorry xP xD Hehe. (But, for the record, I didn't mean to do that :P)

message 98: by Magnus (new)
