Jordan Hutson | 11 comments The graduation was amazing. I was so happy for Francie and Neely. I loved the part about the flowers and the ice cream. It was surprising about Johnny and I wonder what will happen in the future for the family.

Albany (albanycarmona) The moment when Francie sees the handwriting on the flowers and thinks that it's all been just a dream: heartbreaking! But the truth is she was right when she thought that no one ever really dies...Neely looks just like Johnny and their children will have a resemblance to him as well and that thought cheered me up when I read it.

I loved the part about the flowers and was so happy for Francie but felt sad that Johnny must have known that he would not live to see her graduate. So sad!

So there was happiness for Francie and sadness for Johnny and also anger at that English teacher all in one grade school graduation.

Heather | 44 comments The flowers from Johnny were bittersweet, made me sad and happy all at once! I was saddened that Francie's mother choose to go to her brother's graduation over hers, and that Katie favors her son over her daughter! Mothers should never favor one child over the other.

I am interested to see how the rest of the story turns out...whether both children go on with their education or if they'll have to work. I kind of have a feeling that Neeley will go to high school and that Francie will end up staying home to help care for Annie "Laurie", and get a job with more pay.
