My favourite is this:

Amazing Grace
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed.Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.The Lord has promised good to me,
His Word my hope secures;
He will my Shield and Portion be,
As long as life endures.Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, who called me here below,
Will be forever mine.When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun

Amazing (((;

Be Thou My Vision Hymn

Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower:
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of Heaven, my victory won,
May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

My very favorite hymn is It Is Well. It's such a beautiful song, full of meaning... and the story behind it just makes it that much more special! :) https://aerykah.wordpress.com/2012/04...

Edward (indielinguist) | 1 comments One of my favourites is "Footprints of Jesus." Here's a YouTube vid in which a choir is singing it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocLnL.... And here are the lyrics (NOTE: The singers in the YouTube video only sing three of the verses):

Sweetly, Lord, have we heard Thee calling,
Come, follow Me!
And we see where Thy footprints falling
Lead us to Thee.

Refrain:
Footprints of Jesus,
That make the pathway glow;
We will follow the steps of Jesus
Where’er they go.

Though they lead o’er the cold, dark mountains,
Seeking His sheep;
Or along by Siloam’s fountains,
Helping the weak.

If they lead through the temple holy,
Preaching the Word;
Or in homes of the poor and lowly,
Serving the Lord.

Though, dear Lord, in Thy pathway keeping,
We follow Thee;
Through the gloom of that place of weeping,
Gethsemane!

If Thy way and its sorrows bearing,
We go again,
Up the slope of the hillside, bearing
Our cross of pain.

By and by, through the shining portals,
Turning our feet,
We shall walk, with the glad immortals,
Heav’n’s golden street.

Then, at last, when on high He sees us,
Our journey done,
We will rest where the steps of Jesus
End at His throne.

Marie Moreton (mariemoreton) | 13 comments "How Great Thou Art" is one of my favourite hymns, maybe because I can relate to it, as I see God in His creation. I love and cherish His creation, I'm inspred by it all. I love God too.

When we sing it at Tenby Salvation Army, we raise the roof! especially with a resounding 5 part harmony on the last line of the last chorus.....Brilliant!

I kind of find I'll Fly Away to be annoying for some reason... I'm not sure why, but it just is. I really don't like it when I get annoyed with songs. -_-

Anyway I'm not really familiar with many hymns, because I went to a church that sang christian contemporary for worship (Such as songs by phil wickham, newsboys, etc).
But I have started going to a church that uses hymns, and I can't say I am entirely content with it yet due to it being a huge change, but I do like Victory in Jesus. Amazing Grace is nice too. :)

Jerrel C. (believer1) | 7 comments Ten thousand Angels
Ten Thousand Angels

He could have called ten thousand Angels.

They bound the hands of Jesus, in the garden where he prayed. They let Him through the streets, in shame. They spat upon the Savior. So pure and free from sin. They said crucify Him he's to blame.

He could have called, ten thousand Angels. To destroy the world, and set Him free. He could have called, ten thousand Angels. But He died a alone for you and me.

Upon His precious head, they placed a crown of thorns. They laughed and said behold the king. They struck Him, and the cursed Him, and mock His holy name, and all alone He suffered everything.

He could have called, ten thousand Angels. To destroy the world, and set Him free. He could have called, ten thousand Angels, but He died a alone for you and me.

He could have called, ten thousand Angels. To destroy the world, and set Him free. He could have called, ten thousand Angels.
