Brandon Sanderson is a finalist in YA fantasy and Adult fantasy. Jim Butcher is a finalist in Adult Fantasy along with Brandon Sanderson. Sci-fi category is terrifyingly bad, but at least there's Seveneves. Can't speak for the other categories, but take a look around anyway.

For those who don't know, Butcher has been under attack lately, and his new book one-starred, essentially because he refused to denounce his non-PC fans. So a little support would be nice. Also I'm about 2/3 into the book and it's great, even though I still prefer Dresden.

Aeronaut's Windlass. It's a start of a brand new non-urban fantasy series.

And a bucket of yuck in SciFi. All the usual suspects. I heard the Star Wars one was especially atrocious.

VMom (votermom) | 46 comments Does anyone remember what good books got cut from the semi-final round in the any of the categories?
I remember Ringo's book was there - can't remember the others. At least Saint Odd and American Wife are still in.

No surprise, considering the population of Goodreads.

Didn't notice Saint Odd in there. Good to know it made it.

Oh I see. Saint Odd is under Horror. Voted. Thanks for letting me know; I don't normally read horror so I didn't even look.
