We all have certain authors we find funny, interesting, amazing (sometimes all three)and we would love to meet them in person if only to find out how they came up with some of their ideas/worlds. Please list the top 5 authors (alive or dead) you would like to meet in person.

Ashley Marie Neil Gaiman, Laini Taylor, JK Rowling, Joe Hill and Tamora Pierce. Possibly Edgar Allan Poe and Shakespeare for dead ones.

I totally agree with JK Rowling. Neil Gaiman is a good one - he is so imaginative.

message 6: by Ashley Marie (new)

Ashley Marie oooh Maggie too, I feel like she would be hilarious.

ooh umm probably Libba Bray, Scott Westerfeld, Maggie Stiefvater, Neal Shusterman, and Patrick Ness. Some of them I've already met but it would be amazing to actually sit down and talk with any of them for a long time. :D

Patrick Ness for sure Brigid! I am going to have trouble narrowing this down.

Thats what I think too. She is one of my first fave authors, and from her bloggposts she would just be a blast to meet.

How on earth did I miss Shusterman? YES. I need to pick his brain on the Unwind books.

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 440 comments 1. Stan Lee - his Marvel work is vital to my love of reading.

2. Felicia Day - Okay, I'll be honest... I'm crushin' haha. But I have a deep respect for her and she's worked in all medias I want to work inl.

3. JK Rowling - Duh.

4. Veronica Roth - I know a lot of people had differing views on the Divergent series, but the anti-extremism view that rang through hit home for me. I finished reading the first book and thought "I want to talk about life with this person!" haha

5. Maggie Stiefvater - I love what I've read of her work, but mostly she just seems cool. Plus she pulled aside something I said about Dream Thieves just to acknowledge that she appreciated it a lot haha.

She really does. For a while I was talking to Vince Caso(Bladezz from the Guild) a lot, he was even close to being in a web series I was writing, but everyone involved dropped out all at once( :( ).
At one point we were talking about playing D&D and how I've never played. He said we should sometime if we end up working together and mentioned that if it happened odds that she'd play could be likely.

I fainted at just the thought of it haha.

I can't really decide here so am going to give it a try with the first few names that come to mind.

1. JK Rowling - I must know how she comes up with so many great ideas/characters.

2. Meg Cabot - great choice Oda. She is always hilarious and full of pop culture goodies.

3. Tie between Jane Austen and Lucy Maude Montgomery

4. Marina Marchetta - she is a Goddess.

5. Patrick Ness

6. Rainbow Rowell (sorry had to add her)

7. John Green (I can't stop!!!)

Honrable mentions to- Markus Zusak, Dr. Seuss, Louise Rennison, Kristan Higgins, Janet Evanovich, Andrew Smith, Judy Blume, Sophie Kinsella, Ally Carter, Tina Fey, Mindy Kaling, Amy, Poehler, Lauren Graham. Can you tell I idolize authors!!!

Those are excellent choices, Heidi! :D I also thought about JK Rowling and Markus Zusak––I hadn't thought of Andrew Smith for some reason but that is also a great choice. I would also love to meet Tina Fey and Amy Poehler!
