Mo The Picture of Dorian Gray
The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
A new month and a new book. The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde is the story of a young man whose portrait shows the darker entities of his soul.

Here's the suggested reading schedule, but you're welcome to go at your own pace:
April 1-8: pages 1 - 84
April 9-16: pages 85 - 170
April 17-24: pages 171 - 254

Remember to hide your spoilers and keep the conversation polite.

Amanda (apandacat) | 14 comments Just started this book but loving it so far, much less light hearted than the other work by Wilde I've read (the Importance of Being Earnest). It's taking me a good deal longer to read this book than usual, I feel like there is a message or meaning in each sentence, which is funny because so much in the beginning of the book is little quips about how are and books themselves have no meaning, but the meaning the viewer finds is a reflection of themselves. Anyway, not quite far in enough for in depth discussion but would love to hear what others think of it :)

Alison G. (agriff22) | 543 comments I read it last year and loved it. It made me want to not be very nice to Dorian Gray but it was a book that stuck with me!

Renee M Lord Henry Wotton is immensely quotable. Wilde has filled his mouth with so many of the snarky comments for which he is famous. He must have been fun to write.

The first few chapters are marvelously homoerotic. I almost hate to leave the three beautiful friends and venture out into the book where terrible things are bound to happen.

Lynn I'm just starting this book. I really wanted to try and be on the same page as everybody else but I'm a little behind because of school.
