Alison G. (agriff22) | 543 comments Hi everyone! Sorry I am a little late getting this up. This month another group read is Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451. I have heard a lot of opinions on this book and am looking forward to making my own! I am Alison and I will be the moderator for this book. Hopefully I will be able to keep up with the rest of you. I am in the process of starting to go back to school and reading other books for other challenges. I will put a temporary schedule up after I look and see how many chapters are in the book. Give me a day or so to do that. I hope everyone enjoys the book!

Steppin' in!

We've got a short one here, so if you haven't started yet, do not be deterred! The book is spit into three sections so let us do it thus:
April 1-10: The Hearth and the Salamander
April 11-20: The Sieve and the Sand
April 21-30: Burning Bright

When Guy comes home from the story's first book burning, he finds his wife has taken a bottle of sleeping tablets. Why, with this life of free time taken up with excitement, might one decide to overdose?
Any speculation on why a man like Beatty, who has read books before burning them, would want to keep destroying them?
Why is this section called the Hearth and the Salamander?
