I will say, though, that I wouldn't bother with Acheron, based strictly on personal tastes. I couldn't finish the first half of the book; the characters other than Acheron are cruel or careless to a fault (even the sister,) and the book will repeatedly build you up to feel like something better is just around the corner... only to drop you into an even deeper pit of despair than you were to begin with.
I've heard the second half is much better, but trying to make it through the first half left such a sour taste in my mouth I had to go back and read Night Pleasures to remind myself why I loved the series to begin with. Too much cruelty, too much suffering, too much... pain, just in general, for my tastes.

His story by itself was great, I didn't love Tori for him, I thought he needed a different type of woman but the past was well written out. Again, you just understand and appreciate him more from the other books. You understand his actions and thoughts.
I also didn't continue with the series after his book. For me, that was enough to end it. Although I did want to read more on Nick but not enough to continue on.
