Roxy | 5 comments I'm just wondering what kind of phobias you guys have

message 2: by Mahala (new)

Mahala I'm a bit weird on picking up the telephone like Carrie is. I just don't like it. Do you have any?

message 3: by Jasmine20 (new)

Jasmine20 | 88 comments I'm a bit weird because I can't think of any phobias that I have. I think that's probably a good thing though.

message 4: by Morganna (new)

Morganna | 59 comments i have phobias of insects/spiders, deep/open water and the dark

message 5: by Emily (new)

Emily Williams | 5 comments I have a really weird phobia of manikins.. I just get so freaked out by them..

message 6: by Halah (new)

Halah (valhalah) I have claustrophobia, fear of enclosed, small spaces.
And a phobia of earthquakes and natural disasters like that.
Also being alone with one person in a room.
*hyperventilates*

message 7: by Hannah (new)

Hannah Anderson (hannahjanderson) | 5 comments I don't have any fears, does that make me Dauntless?

message 8: by Dani (new)

Dani (pastizzidani) | 16 comments I don't know if I have 'phobias' I'm scared of a lot of things but I don't really have many phobias, although I'm terrified more over sentimental stuff rather than spiders and heights etc

message 9: by Halah (last edited Apr 07, 2014 06:30AM) (new)

Halah (valhalah) Hannah wrote: "I don't have any fears, does that make me Dauntless?"

Me too.. wasn't it just AMAZING!!! *_*

Halah (valhalah) Emily wrote: "I have a really weird phobia of manikins.. I just get so freaked out by them.."

I used to be terrified of them! I had a dream once when I was younger that the head of one was following us and we had to hide around the house.. Haha sorry :P

message 12: by Emily (new)

Emily Williams | 5 comments Halli wrote:I used to be terrified of them! I had a dream once when I was younger that the head of one was followi..."

why did you just do that to me!! ;)

message 13: by Halah (new)

Halah (valhalah) @Emily

It was amazing ;-; and it was exactly how I imagined it! But it brought back all the feels.. Sigh..

Haha sorry, it was a horrible dream :P But it reminds me of Doctor Who now. The first episode of Nine.

message 14: by Nikki (new)

Nikki | 53 comments Birds, balloon animals, fireworks I'm not really afraid of them but they freak my the f*ck out!

message 15: by Jennie (new)

Jennie (jennieelizabeth) | 91 comments I'm quite superstitious, and mainly of birds, but I don't have any proper phobias. Although I am scared of quite a lot haha.

message 16: by Iben (new)

Iben | 14 comments I have a phobia of clowns (coulrophobia) and then I really don't like being surrounded by a lot of people. I also don't like spiders unless they're teeny tiny ones.

message 17: by Catalina (new)

Catalina | 152 comments Interesting thread! I don't think I have any major proper phobias, though I do obviously have fears. One of my biggest ones is the fear of rejection, and also perhaps the fear of failure.

message 18: by Kristina (last edited Apr 07, 2014 02:20PM) (new)

Kristina (chocfreek) Too many! Including wooden ice lolly sticks which is my weirdest one, they set my teeth on edge! Others include driving at night or to places I don’t know very well and going places on my own. Luckily I have very understanding friends and family, though I sometimes think they enable me a bit too much! I’m going to England for 6 weeks in June and my husband can only come for 4 so my 74 year old dad is going to travel economy to keep me company (the flight is over 24 hours!). Dad does want to visit my grandma anyway but he would usually travel Business class as it’s easier on him – I really am pathetic!

message 19: by Ainsley (new)

Ainsley (speakingspark) | 10 comments Large open empty spaces with lots of seats (think churches or cathedrals...). There's just something so unnerving about all these places to sit, and no one being there. Also, pipe organs - the huge noise they make with sometimes no warning when someone is playing them freaks me out, and the thought that they might just start playing on their own - no thank you!!

message 20: by Bex (new)

Bex | 27 comments I'm afraid of heights. Like, I can't go Ferris wheels or go to the top of skyscrapers. Otherwise, I can deal with things like spiders, fires, and so on

message 21: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Gai (sarahgai) | 8 comments I hate closed confined spaces my husband took me to look at some gold mine caves last year got five minutes in and someone had to take me out I was fully justified lol it could have caved in on me.

message 22: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Boquin The most noticeable phobia I have is my fear of butterflies. I dont care how "beautiful" they look I will start screaming and crying at the sight of them. (unless its a picture)
But probably the strangest phobia I have is the fear of my own pulse. I cant stand it it made me feel uneasy and anxious whenever we had to do it for class and I cant even sleep on my left side because I hate feeling my heart beat. Never heard of anyone with this fear before. Does someone by any chance know if it has a name?

message 23: by Kristina (new)

Kristina (chocfreek) Andrea, I just googled it apparently it's called Cardiophobia!!

message 24: by Lookzarabubbles (new)

Lookzarabubbles | 12 comments I have phobias of spiders, clowns, manikins, fish (bit weird I know), cathedrals and churches (I went on a school trip to a cathedral and had to leave because I had a meltdown), picking up the phone when I don't know who it is and Miranda Sings (that one is really strange!). I think that's all!

message 25: by [deleted user] (last edited Apr 08, 2014 11:30AM) (new)

Emily wrote: "I have a really weird phobia of manikins.. I just get so freaked out by them.."

Probably doesn't help if you watch the 9th Doctor's first episode, with the living plastic. Eughh
I really can't think of a phobia but I don't like overcrowded spaces, which can be claustrophobia on occasion.

message 26: by Rikki (new)

Rikki (rikkicaron) | 112 comments Picking up the phone and also not having money/tickets ready when going on the bus or shopping

message 27: by Emma Kihlberg (new)

Emma Kihlberg | 72 comments I don't like heights and I really hate that insect that I think is called daddy long legs. If one of those come near me I freak out, I just can't stand them. I think it started when I woke up one morning and one sat on my face.. but I mean, they're like small spiders with freakishly long legs and with wings!!

message 28: by Shona (new)

Shona (shonalee) | 109 comments I thought I had commented on this but it doesn't look like I have.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who fears answering the phone. I can't even describe how I feel when I have to but it's horrible.
I also fear spiders. I can't stand them!
Also a few more are heights, needles and clowns.

message 29: by Shelbi (new)

Shelbi (sh_lbi) I've got a really bad needle phobia that seems to have grown into a fear of doctors. I always grey out at the doctor's office cause I get nervous whenever they do something. Not fun :(

message 30: by Lookzarabubbles (new)

Lookzarabubbles | 12 comments I also have a phobia of hand driers !

message 31: by Jennie (new)

Jennie Haines (jenniehaines) | 11 comments My number one phobia is anything to do with eyeballs and eyes and even typing this makes me feel all squeamish. I hate touching my own eyes (that's why contact lenses are out of the question for me) and watching other people touching or pull at their eyes just makes me ajsjjwkakskskakakksmsm. Thinking about stuff going in my eye or my eye being touched or stabbed or other weird things freaks me out and yeah it's kinda weird. I can't watch that seen in Final Destination 5 where she's getting laser eye surgery or the scene in Clockwork Orange in the cinema.

Also, I hate the dark, general blood and guts (I have to look away from the screen a lot of times during Casualty!), picking up the phone or answering the door when I'm home alone and any type of bug.

To summarise, I'm a wimp.

message 32: by Roxy (new)

Roxy | 5 comments I forgot to add what my phobia is
It's pretty boring.
I'm just scared of being alone in a room

message 33: by Natalie (new)

Natalie (natz281) | 10 comments My phobias are: spiders (even money spiders), heights, public speaking, picking up/talking on the phone and I also really hate bellybuttons!

message 34: by Jaime (new)

Jaime Leigh (justjaimeleigh) Spiders, insane people, heights (sometimes), falling backwards (like the falling you get when you are sleeping but not when you fall forward off of something), going blind, going def, loosing everyone I love, a gruesome death, dead things in general (human, animal ect.)
Anything on my eyes (paper cuts, scratches), possibility of zombies and hospitals kinda creep me out everyone once and a while.

message 35: by Kenna (new)

Kenna (kenna_) I did have a severe phobia of needles and injections, but I got rushed into hospital two weeks ago and it kind of made the fear go away! I still don't like them though.

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

Helen wrote: "Toilets."

Is that just toilets in general, or public toilets? As I'm not big on public toilets :) xxxx

message 37: by Darby (new)

Darby | 217 comments Bicycles! (Cyclophobia)
A few years ago I broke my arm in kind of a freak accident with the pavement, and it didn't heal properly so I've still got a lot of trouble using that arm and hand on a daily basis. Bing around them bothers me slightly, but I guess my biggest fear is having to be in a situation where I need to ride one.

message 38: by Darby (new)

Darby | 217 comments Well a phobia is defined as extreme fear or dislike so I'm going to also count Arachnophobia. I'm not scared of them anymore, I just hate them and will not hesitate to run forth and kill them. I realized it was dumb, so I started facing it more and more so it slowly became something I didn't need courage to do. But if one shows up unexpectedly I WILL scream before I get a hold of myself.

message 39: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Boquin Kristina wrote: "Andrea, I just googled it apparently it's called Cardiophobia!!"
Thank you very much! I'd tried googling it before, but I'd never found anything. lol I think I might be technology impaired.

message 40: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth | 21 comments I'm terrified of dogs, not so much teeny ones but labradors and anything about that size scare me when they run towards me :-/ My friends must think that I'm mental as I have to yell at them to detach their dogs from me :-)

message 41: by Ash (new)

Ash I'm terrified of cockroaches, it's probably my biggest fear. Also embarrassing myself in public.

message 42: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Kokx (lisakokx) | 24 comments I don't think I have any phobias, but there are a few things I'm really afraid of. Like being exposed (so without a blanket/alone or something) in the dark (so. many. horror. scenes.) and being left alone and a few other things.

message 43: by Serena (new)

Serena Marangon (crazybookslady) | 4 comments I'm afraid of blood. It's called emophobia. Am I weird?/ Am I the only one?
Oh and, of course, I'm afraid of heights.

message 44: by Fatima (last edited Apr 15, 2014 07:19AM) (new)

Fatima (fmgr) | 16 comments I have a phobia of Heights. If there was a glass banister I would probably walk on the other side if there is a wall or in the middle if there is another glass banister on the other side. I can't stand heights to the point where I would cry. I can't climb higher than the 2nd step of a ladder.

message 45: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 1 comments i have a fear of birds. seriously they freak me out.
also i get really panicked when the car i am in has to drive up a hill. i dont know why

message 46: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth I have a bad fear of snakes. After the second Harry Potter film I had nightmares for months over the basilisk. also answering he phone people always sound really strange.

message 47: by Joanna (new)

Joanna | 10 comments I have three main fears: fear of heights, fear of being upside down and fear of crisp packets...

message 48: by Lily (new)

Lily Watson | 16 comments I used to be absolutely terrified of dogs and practically all other animals, but I conquered that one a couple of years a go after a couple of months on a farm :) now, I don't really have any serious fears other than the fear of the unknown, I don't know whether anyone knows what I mean??

message 49: by Darby (new)

Darby | 217 comments *this is kind of a silly fear* I'm so scared of dropping my phone in the toilet or breaking it. I've had it for a year, and if it does break I can get a free, newer model, replacement (it's an iPhone 4), but Id feel like such a failure if something happened.

message 50: by Naomi (new)

Naomi | 13 comments allegrophobia- fear of being late
arachnophobia- fear of spiders
and I just have a general fear of answering the door if I don't know who's outside.
