These stories are under or around 100 words. Today's topic is strike.

Julia twitched violently in her bed. She ended up on the floor scared to death. She thought she'd heard thunder. She was right there's a lightning strike now. There is no way she was going to get back to sleep tonight and it was only 10:48. Even if the storm stopped, it wouldn't really stop. The noises would still rattle around in Julia's head. At least the storm noises covered up the noises of the rats.

strike, strike strike. the union had petitioned against unfair labor wages. the army stood in and chained the government buildings sending all the poor officials each home without pay. the world corrupted and then eventually cracked in half from the weight of unemployment. weeds ate sidewalks, trees blew in the wind. stores were burnt to the ground after being robbed penniless. "it's hectic!" screamed one of them still on strike.
