Just curious, do you enjoy reading a story where there is a supernatural main character? Is it scarier to read about an alien, monster, vampire or boogeyman?

Clowns. Hate them. Creepy btsds. Oh and puppets.

Aliens, because they are out there, and one day, they will be 'here' Who knows what their agenda will be.

Plus I think demons are real too, so they're also scary. Yikes!!

I enjoy reading about aliens, monsters and the like. But I know that they're fictional, so I don't find them scary per se.

People, however? People are scary. You only have to watch 10 minutes of the news to see that. And those guys are *real*...

Aliens, monsters etc. are fictional so they don't scare me. What really scares me is the thought of running out of books to read which is why I've TBR mountains.

Poisonous snakes.

Confined spaces slowly filling with diarrhea. Yes, I know that wasn't one of the options, but the supernatural stuff is not that scary to me.

Spiders. I hate those eight-legged freaks.

Psychopaths.. those are the most scary for me... and I can't get enough :)

OH Yeah.. ever since "IT " by Stephen King.. clowns freak me out.. I don't even want to read about them!

Bees. I love honey, love what they do. I hate it they are dying out. BUT, I was attacked by a hive at age 5 and at 49 still cannot abide looking at them or hearing them.
And NO I will not read a novel about them.

I don't know. None of these scare me really. Aside from aliens, none of them are real.

I'll have to go with Maryann on this, psychopaths are scary, very scary, because you never know if your own neighbor could be one.

Totally agree with psychopaths being the scariest thing to read about. It's so bad because stuff like that CAN really happen, and does.
