Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments The alternates:
Each number corresponds with the spot on the board.
For colors: The cover has to be at least 50%
For locations: As long as the book takes part at all in the given location .
For Shelves: Any book on the given shelf
For Publication Years: I'll be using how GR has it's publication date listed.
For Authors Names: The first, middle, or last name of the author is ok.
For Titles: Only the first word of the title. A, An, And, and The do not count.
So if the letter is B: The Best Day would be ok. Dear Betty would not be ok.

jingles | 291 comments Hi Team 5. I'm jingles. This is my second time to play. I had a wonderful time last round, and am really looking forward to this round.

Teresa (teresab78) | 378 comments Hello! I am a newbie to this game but am looking forward to it :)

message 7: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1052 comments Hello Team! I've played this game before but not in awhile. I've played on many team challenges however.

Once we've all checked in we need to choose a captain and a name.

I have some challenges with being captain - my work keeps me from getting on the internet except briefly at lunch and I will be traveling to my daughters wedding for a week during mid June. I am happy to assist however as I have been captain of other teams.

I live in Louisiana and am on central time. And I won't have any problem getting my reading done for this challenge. I'm excited!!

message 8: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresab78) | 378 comments I can be team captain if no one else wants too. I have no idea for names though... anyone else?

message 9: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresab78) | 378 comments BTW, any other MM readers?

message 10: by jingles (new)

jingles | 291 comments Teresa, I will second you for captain :)

Names...I'm terrible with these things.

The Fabulous Five
Fab Five

❀Tea❀ (ttea) | 527 comments Hi all!
I love challenges (team and non-team) and I couldn't pass this one out. I did both rounds of SSS, but had to switch to SS this time cause I'll be going (probably) on week-long trip beginning of June (sorry guys, I'll probably skip that roll - (Jenne knows ☺)).
If nobody wants to be captain, I can handle it. If that's the case, I'll need backup since rolling time is 6-7am here (I'm CET), and someone else will have to take care of rolling in case of last minute reviews.

It's too late (early?) over here to think clearly about names. See ya all tomorrow. ☺

Can't wait for Friday!

message 12: by ❀Tea❀ (new)

❀Tea❀ (ttea) | 527 comments Another vote for Teresa ☺

message 14: by ❀Tea❀ (new)

❀Tea❀ (ttea) | 527 comments I should warn you that I probably won't be reading them here. I have plenty of other series to finish. ☺

message 15: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1052 comments I vote for Teresa as well!

I am absolutely okay with any name that's chosen.

message 16: by jingles (new)

jingles | 291 comments Great names, Leslie. I really like Five Fabulous Fiends :)

message 17: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresab78) | 378 comments Five Fabulous Fiends would be good, but we only have four players :D

I like High Five

or what about

Serial Killahs (or Killers) or Cereal Killers :D

message 18: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1052 comments Team 5's Fabulous fiends then

The High Five's would work or I love Serial Killers!! That one makes me laugh.

Teresa (teresab78) | 378 comments So let's vote:

1)Team 5's Fabulous Fiends

YOU JINNXED YOURSELF!!

ETA: My girls have tomorrow of so their spirit day (which is usually on Fridays) is today, that combined with your post had me chomping on the bit!! Hopefully the real roll will not be 7 as I don't have anything for that either!

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Teresa y'all roll tomorrow, anytime after midnight tonight. SSS starts today, SS starts on Friday :)

message 28: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments It's all good :) it takes a second to not mix the 2 games up.

message 29: by ❀Tea❀ (new)

❀Tea❀ (ttea) | 527 comments Sorry if I confused you :)

Since I have that power (you roll number I say), let's try this way....
please roll 9, please roll 9... or something higher to get a good start :p

I've been waiting on 9 most of the last round. You'd think that since I was rolling, I'll get it, but nooo. So now I have few 9s that are calling me to read them.

Btw, do you want us to edit our previous posts (where we say what we'll read) or put reviews in new post?

message 30: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresab78) | 378 comments Put them in new posts so I can see when they are done rather than hunting through the thread :D

I will keep my fingers crossed on a 9 for tomorrow!

message 31: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1052 comments As I'm in Louisiana, I'll have to think of some good books in case #7 is rolled.

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1052 comments Okay, Team - I have gone through and found books for the first twelve spaces. I figure that's as high as we can go.

I will be on only briefly tomorrow as it is Good Friday and I try to stay away from TV and computers. Do we know what time we will roll the dice.

message 34: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresab78) | 378 comments I'm in mountain time (Alberta, Canada) So I may get to it before bed tonight as it will only be 11 pm my time. if I don't, then it won't be until about 8:30 (9:30 am central)

Since I'm first one up after 'midnight', do you want me to roll if we have all reviews and you fell asleep?
That would be 1-2h after 'midnight' (depending if I feel lazy or not ☺).

I'll post as soon as I figure something out.

Hope you are enjoying your Friday!

❀Tea❀ (ttea) | 527 comments ~Leslie~ wrote: "Tea - I really like that series though I'm only on #3. I love historical mysteries!"

Me too. Any recommendations after this one?

I've read only couple series: St. Cyr, Nell Sweeney, Gaslight Mystery. And loved them.
I've also started A Lady Arianna Regency Mystery, Captain Lacey Regency Mysteries and Inspector Ian Rutledge and not that very impressed. I mean they are good, just not that 'I-need-to-read-immediately-next-one' kind of good. :D

message 44: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1052 comments Love the Nell Sweeney series. Need to catch up on that one. I think I need to read #5.
I also like Jennifer Ashley's series Captain Lacy. I think I need to read #4 next.

Have you read Tasha Alexander's series Lady Emily? And Only to Deceive (Lady Emily, #1) by Tasha Alexander

It was good but not great. But I still recommend it. I think I have 2 more to go in that series.
And what about Lauren Willig's series The Pink Carnation
The Secret History of the Pink Carnation (Pink Carnation, #1) by Lauren Willig
I loved the first one! The others were hit and miss but still good. I think I've read through #7.

I have on my TBR soon pile Charles Todd series Bess Crawford A Duty To The Dead (Bess Crawford, #1) by Charles Todd
I've heard really good things.

Thank you for the offer!! I'll roll for now, if it gets close to the end when those few extra hours matter then I might get you to.

We have decent weather and the day itself has been good, but we got some really bad news about a friend of the family that has put a damper on things. Finding it hard to get into my book...

Why Kings Confess (Sebastian St. Cyr, #9) by C.S. Harris

Title: Why Kings Confess
Author: C.S. Harris
Series: Sebastian St. Cyr #9
Date read: 20.04.14
Rating: ★★★★

Review:
Finally read this one (thank you Teresa for rolling 9 ☺). I love this series. It's one of mine to-buy-as-soon-as-out series. And to think I've only started reading it because I liked covers. (And still do.) ☺
OK, I'll try to do it without spoilers since Leslie is still going through series.
Sebastian St. Cyr is nobleman who solves murders because he believes everyone deserves a justice. This time murders were little gruesome ((view spoiler)). As always some kind of intrigue was taking place. (Everything revolves around war with France-Napoleon).
It was great book, and I really had trouble putting it down. And now have to wait another year for next one...
