How do I let the good people of GoodRead know about coming free e-book promotion?

I would consider writing a blog post. All of your friends and followers would see the new blog post in their update feeds and possibly in their email inboxes too (unless they've opted out).

Doesn't that conflict with "if your post consists of nothing other than a description of your book, a request for reviews, a special offer or giveaway, etc., please do not post it. Any self-promotional comments will be deleted by the moderator."?

From what you wrote I deduce that there isn't a specific 'free today' section on GR.
It would have been nice to have such a feature though.
