Thank you, Almeta! I thought of you when that particular wording came to mind. (I actually looked to see if you had already used it before I created the topic.) It just sounded so much like something you'd come up with. Your posts are wonderfully creative. I always enjoy perusing them!

Sarah | 18550 comments I too love your title. It's quite a mouthful :-)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Good one, Lori. I had to look it up. :0)

message 7: by Lori (new)

Lori (glitzyrebel) | 444 comments I only learned it 3 days before you. I was looking for geocaching terms to see if there was anything I could use in my title. And, there it was!!! Muggle: non-geocaching person. That's me!!

I thought Muggles were only in Harry Potter.....

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Great reading list, Lori! You are really moving along.

message 10: by Lori (new)

Lori (glitzyrebel) | 444 comments I highly recommend The Pearl That Broke Its Shell. Even if you aren't doing the challenge which requires a book from Afghanistan you should add this one to your reading list. A fantastic story!!

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments Good to hear, Lori. It was already on my TBR so glad to hear you enjoyed it!

Lori (glitzyrebel) | 444 comments My book for Peru When Mountains Walked....it was as sloooow as Mountains Could Walk!!! As slow as Molasses in January!!!! But I finished it anyway because I wasn't going to search for another book in Peru!!!!

I think you will enjoy it Rusalka. Magnificent characters!!!!

message 14: by Lori (new)

Lori (glitzyrebel) | 444 comments Mayan Blood: This one started out very interesting......but ended up taking me a long time to finish. I found the characters to basically have the same personality, same speech, and the same scenes kept repeating over and over and over again. It was a chore to finish.....but what a relief to read that last page.

I have surprisingly found some wonderful books in this challenge. Books I would have never uncovered that were inspiring or a joy to read. So, you just have to take the boring along with great, right?

message 15: by Lori (new)

Lori (glitzyrebel) | 444 comments Currently reading Garment of Shadows and I am liking this on so far.

message 16: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I agree about the boring with the great, Lori. I slogged through a few, but most of my reads for the challenge, so far have been good. I have been able to apply a few that were never planned for too. I seem to be all over the place with the tasks. I am in no hurry.

Lori (glitzyrebel) | 444 comments I'm getting back to Muggle Peregrinations.! Time to tick off another destination. Madame Picasso will take me to France! À la prochaine!

message 19: by Lori (last edited Jun 30, 2016 09:40PM) (new)

Lori (glitzyrebel) | 444 comments I have really enjoyed most of the books on my YLTO inspired peregrinations. Madame Picasso falls in this category. I loved Eva!!!

France, and the art world, is behind me and I am now on my way to a destination experience required for Afghanistan. I will now descend to wherever the caves in Blind Descent take me!

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I had to look up the author and her books from your cave trip. I added the first one to my TBR list of other "1st in Series" books.
I hope you have a good trip!

Congratulations on finishing yours!!!! Track of the Cat sounds interesting.

I have found and enjoyed some rather interesting stories because of this journey.

message 23: by Lori (new)

Lori (glitzyrebel) | 444 comments Sentence of Marriage was "okay". As I have neared the end I have found the last couple of books to be difficult to finish. They just have not held my interest. I started Blind Descent 6 weeks ago!!! It got put back on the shelf when I lost interest in the story. I'm going to just have to give it another try. At the beach reading about someone trapped in a cave wasn't the best setting for this particular book to be read. I need a few overcast days to set the proper mood, don't you think??? And a nice cold week for Icebreaker. That's not going to happen any time soon in the Southern US.....perhaps I should just read The House on Olive Street first!

message 24: by Lori (new)

Lori (glitzyrebel) | 444 comments Ahhh, well, maybe not!! The House on Olive Street is about someone dying. I need a book for a hot summer day with afternoon storms. Might be time to look for a different book. I really don't want to finish the challenge with three books I'd rather not read. Any books suggestions would be appreciated!!

Susan Guard | 695 comments Which tasks are you looking for new titles for?

message 26: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Hi Lori,

I don't have any words of wisdom, unfortunately. I am in the middle of having started several and struggling to want to pick them up and get to the end too. It took me over a month to finish one to be able to post for the first badge. My cave book for the task for where you have Blind Descent is This Census-Taker but I do not know anything about it. The one I have for North America is White Fire. It is part of a series, but supposed to have a cave in it. I bought it for another challenge a long time ago and never got to it. You could use it for the same task as Icebreaker.

I have Olive Kitteridge for Morocco.

I am pumped because I just got Temeraire #9 for China. I am going to make myself finish some other books first.

message 27: by Lori (new)

Lori (glitzyrebel) | 444 comments It's time to get done with the last two books!!! Time to embrace the cold and darkness in Icebreaker and Blind Descent and get this done!!!

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments How are you doing?

message 29: by Lori (last edited Oct 24, 2016 09:07AM) (new)

Lori (glitzyrebel) | 444 comments Cherie wrote: "How are you doing?"
Almost there. I decided to read Journey to the Center of the Earth for the book with a cave in it. It is entertaining enough to hold my interest. I'm more than halfway through it.

And, I just realized, that's the only book I have to complete because I have already completed Australia in the first challenge.

How are you doing with the challenge?

message 30: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Lori - I am doing pretty good. I just finished I Am the Messenger for Australia and I have two series books to finish for the last two Australia sites. I am downloading one from Overdrive in a few minutes.

I have one started for Cuba that is going pretty well after I had to dump the first one I chose (was too awful to continue). I am also reading #16 of the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency for Botswana.

After these two are finished, and including the Zusack book, I will have 10 to go.
