Welcome to the group and the challenge. I've read some of your selections, but I really hope to get to Never Let Me Go, In Cold Blood, and Casino Royale this next year. Have fun!

I need to join you in reading some of these. Loved Atonement and Rebecca is an all-time favorite. Looks like you will have some good reading ahead.

So nice to see your great selection of books here in your challenge, Kristina. It looks to be a wonderful year of reading for you.

Thanks! I've been wanting to read Never Let Me Go for a long time, and this will be the year! Casino Royale just sort of popped in my mind and I think it will be cool.

I've had Atonement on my shelf for ages, and the movie but I've never seen it (it was a gift and I wanted to read the book first). I'm anxious to get started!

Sarah This is a really great list. I would love to read Pollyanna again :) There are a few here I've read but I wanted to tell you that The Old Man and the Sea is way more riveting than I thought it would be. I listened to the audio and I was completely engrossed.

Have fun!!!

Andrea AKA Catsos Person (catsosperson) | 1685 comments I read Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea with this group recently and I was seriously impressed with JVs imagination--amazing.

I really enjoyed The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas and have been hoping to try something else, The Man in the Iron Mask, isn't as lengthy. Perhaps I'll read this next.

Though controversial, I really enjoyed Lolita.

I hope you enjoy your challenge!

I was so into the movie version of Pollyanna when I was younger, and until maybe a year ago I had NO idea it was a book first, duh! I'm looking forward to reading it and seeing the difference.

I've always loved the print of The Old Man and the Sea's cover that is prominent in my local B&N and that's the main driving force to read it, haha!

I'll admit that I chose some of them because they're not quite as daunting, 20,000 and Man in the Iron Mask included.

Lolita I've been curious about forever and now is the perfect time to read it! I don't have time to get it done for the group read this month but I'm sure I'll go back and read the comments when I'm done.

Sarah 20,000 absolutely amazed me. It was like a fantasy world inside a sci-fi one. Totally brilliant.

I'm really happy to hear that! I can't decide which one to start first, but I think 20,000 might be it
