Victoria (victoriammd) 438. Champagne, vodka, rosé and capiriana. But I'm French, so I'm used to drinking alcohol! :p

message 303: by Yelena (new)

Yelena Lugin (ylugin) | 413 comments 439 wooohooo vodka (I'm Russian) but I love my red wine
And damn girl 5:30!?!? I'm an old fart i guess and can't stay up that late any more

message 304: by Victoria (new)

Victoria (victoriammd) 440. Yeah, but the cheap kind, the ones that student buy! :p I prefer white wine, it's sweeter. I don't usually stay up that late too, but it's was a New Year's part!

message 305: by Yelena (new)

Yelena Lugin (ylugin) | 413 comments 442 I never had Australian champaign. I guess I should try it!
But I like red wine from Argentina

442 I think all Europeans are used to drinking alcohol :p

Victoria (victoriammd) 444. Yeah, I think we have the liver built for it! :p
@Aaron, I live in Alsace, we do a kind of champagne which tastes the same as regular champagne but is way less expansive. Besides, real champagne is French, if it doesn't come from a particular region in France people are not allowed to call it champagne.

message 309: by Victoria (new)

Victoria (victoriammd) 446. It's in France, the region that is right on the border with Germany, I live 5 minutes away from Germany! :) I had it too at weddings, that's why I know that our stuff tastes the same and is way cheaper!

message 310: by Victoria (new)

Victoria (victoriammd) 448. France is great, and especially the food and Germany too, I love it! :) And Paris is so beautiful, the only problem there are the people! :p

message 311: by Victoria (new)

Victoria (victoriammd) 450. Parisian are very rude. I know that we French people are known worldwide for our rudeness, but I think Parisians are the most rude ones in France!

message 312: by Taylor (new)

Taylor | 1735 comments 451 I must say though, the French have style. When I was visiting over there the men always used to wear the long coats and scarves and have a cigerette in their hand.

message 313: by Victoria (new)

Victoria (victoriammd) 452. Yeah, that's true. I feel like most of us walk like we are starring in a clichée black & white movie! :p

message 314: by Ilias (new)

Ilias (illias) 452 I didn't knew cigarettes were stylish. They should add that on each packaging: "Causes early death and cancer, but it looks stylish in your hands"

message 315: by Victoria (new)

Victoria (victoriammd) 453. We are really heavy smokers in France, it's not a clichée. But most of us don't smoke because it's cool, it's just somewhat cultural...

454 lmao I say it's stylish because it's a huge cliché for the French. I hate smoking, it is an awful addiction.

455 You can do it !

456 Have you ever tried one of those fake cigerettes? I know it's easier said than done, but maybe the fake cigerettes could help? Good luck ^__^

Taylor | 1735 comments 467 anyone set their 2016 reading goals?

message 328: by Taylor (new)

Taylor | 1735 comments 469 @Aaron i set mine for 100 as well! I'm already stressed, haha.

message 329: by Yelena (new)

Yelena Lugin (ylugin) | 413 comments 469 you set it to 100!??!?!??!!
lord.
I was proud to set mine to 10 :(
(I am a Pharm.D. student so time is very very very very limited and I read slow)

I'm jealous of the adventures you get to have through your 100 books.

message 330: by Yelena (new)

Yelena Lugin (ylugin) | 413 comments ^470
and both of you 100!?! I am slacking

message 331: by Phoenix2 (new)

Phoenix2 471 I set them on 40, but 100!! I could never reach that!!

message 332: by Taylor (new)

Taylor | 1735 comments 472 I read 61 books out of a goal of 45 so I decided this year why not go for 100. I don't even think I'm gonna complete it !

message 333: by Victoria (new)

Victoria (victoriammd) 473. I set mine to 50, but I'm not sure I'm going to make it either!

message 334: by Taylor (new)

Taylor | 1735 comments 475 I usually complete 2 books within 6 days or a week but I that's not very fast if you think about it. I just hope that I can reach 100!

message 335: by Victoria (new)

Victoria (victoriammd) 476 I think it's really fast, I usually just have time to read at night so it takes me minimum 4 days to finish a book, if I really like it!

message 336: by Yelena (new)

Yelena Lugin (ylugin) | 413 comments 478 same Victoria, it takes me a few days if I really like the book. But once I start classes there are a lot of days that I simply dont have any time to read :(
2015 I think I read only like 9ish books. Most of that was over summer and then I read 4 in the past few weeks (ToG)

But this year I will make more time to read, determined. I think I may up by goal tho, forgot I had more time in summer :)

message 340: by Taylor (new)

Taylor | 1735 comments 483 Judging from the picture you're a horror fan, Aaron? I love horror movies and books so much! My favourite has to be Stephen King's The Shining.

message 341: by Taylor (new)

Taylor | 1735 comments 485 I want to read IT. Stephen King novels are timeless. Have you seen the Friday the 13th movies and Texas Chainsaw Massacre?

message 342: by Taylor (new)

Taylor | 1735 comments 487 the old ones are always the best. Horror movies nowadays are just plain cringe-worthy, besides Insidious and The Conjuring.

That must have been really cool, meeting the director. The title sounds very interesting as well.

message 343: by Taylor (new)

Taylor | 1735 comments 489. Wrong turn is another favourite as well, I absolutely loved that film. I also watched Poltergeist, i thought it was very good!
Have you watched the new remake of Nightmare on Elm Street? Not as great as the first one but not a bad remake.
Also Wolf Creek is good.
A horror movie I hate is "Final Destination"

message 344: by Lexie, Reading and writing is my paradise! (new)

Lexie | 758 comments Mod
My average is probably about 5 days to finish a book, depending how good or how long it is. And if they're good I often want to savour them a little. But while my holidays last I'm gonna try and read as many books as I can as fast as I can before I start school again because it is gonna be soooo busy and soooo hard!

Guys lets get into the New Year! (Taylor, Victoria you're gonna kill me for this...)
2016!
