Goodreads Librarians Group discussion

So, not sure what is going on. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't - seems to be "doesn't" more often lately and I'm not sure I'm doing anything wrong...

When I go into a book and notice there's something wrong with the description (I do this completely randomly, btw), like extra tags that GR doesn't support etc, I go in and clean it up to remove the useless tags. No biggie, right. But many times, they have working tags in them like bold, italics, etc. When I clean up the useless tags, the ones that WERE working before no longer work, but they ARE correct.

Is this a glitch, or something that corrects itself, just not immediately? Like I said, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't...though more often lately it seems that I have this problem with code.

I'm not sure, I didn't test it then, and I forget which book I edited recently and had that problem with.

I know if the tags end after the jump (more) they don't work, but this did end before the jump and I saw the "bold" tags but the text wasn't bold.

Not sure if I'm making sense. I'm going to find some books to edit and see if I can get it to recreate my problem...

Oh! I think I've seen that bug elsewhere and meant to post about it. I think it's specific to bold (and italics?) tags. GR doesn't seem to like them at the beginning of reviews. No idea why.

Figured it out - the bold and italic tags didn't work if there was a line break in them. We'll fix that next release.
