Yay, thanks, Debi, for the pick!

And can you believe it'll be 2016 in a fortnight's time! Which of these debuts are you looking forward to start the year with?

I came across The Wrath and the Dawn just the other day and thought it'd be a very interesting concept... a retelling of 1001 Nights! I might see if I can fit that in somewhere :)

Wow! Several on the first page are planned for various challenges that I am in:

Before I Go to Sleep - SRC
Burial Rites - SRC, Moving Mtns
Pushing the Limits - Scattegories, Moving Mtns
The Golem and the Jinni - SRC, Moving Mtns, Scattergories

I think I will try for at least one of the Moving Mountains selections.

Julie Webb | 126 comments Wow, I have some of these in other challenges:

Divergent
Cinder
Red Queen
The Help, maybe
The Name of the Wind, maybe
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children
Wither
The Selection
The Time Traveler's Wife
Wonder
Red Rising, maybe
That's just the fist two pages. I want to read a bunch next year and really expand my fiction shelf.

Dogsandbooksanddogsandbooks I'm just gonna do it. I was surprised to find the book that has been hanging around my TBR list the longest on Debut Shelf. I am going to make myself read it:
Kiss Me First
I will also add the audio version of Fourth of July Creek
A few contenders will also be:
Before I Go to Sleep
The Shock of the Fall
Luckiest Girl Alive
In the Woods

I'll choose from

Future Hope
Hacker
The Love That Kills
Sister

I know they all are debut works, but haven't checked yet to verify that all are on the shelf.

Ross | 21 comments I am currently waiting on my person to choose a book for me. One of the books on my list is Along Came a Spider by James Patterson. Although this was not the first book he ever wrote I have heard that this is considered his debut novel. If my chosen picks it for me I hope to read it.

Ross

Lisette (illusie) | 3233 comments I already have read several of the books on the debut shelves.
So far I have picked out the following books to read this year;

- Throne of Glass
- Before I Fall / tried to read it, but put it away because I didn't like it
- Before I go to Sleep / loved it!
- Wrath of Dawn
- The snow child (I started reading this last year, but put it away to read later)

Lisette (illusie) | 3233 comments I have not even started yet with reading a book of the debut shelf. My plan is to start with 1 today :)

It's never to late!

Dogsandbooksanddogsandbooks I just got notification from my library that one of my picks for the month had arrived. I went in looking for The Shock of the Fall by Nathan Filer but was told that it had been pulled without replacement. Basically, it had been read to death. However, it was also known as Where the Moon Isn't by Nathan Filer and that one is available. Yay. Won't get to it until end of month but have wanted it for sometime.

I'm reading Where Futures End by Parker Peevyhouse for this, and I'm loving it!

Dogsandbooksanddogsandbooks Got the Where the moon isn't today but it will probably spill over a bit into Feb. Looks like a great read. Fingers crossed.
