message 3: by Katrina G (new)

Katrina G | 4570 comments I don't know how to do the check marks so I'm just going to bold the names of those who are checked in

message 4: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments I am here :)

message 5: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments what are some of the resolutions y'all have for 2016?

message 6: by [deleted user] (last edited Dec 22, 2015 10:34AM) (new)

Hi guys. Checking in.

I'm going to create a few resolutions.

1. Read at least one (can read more) nonfiction book each week about a new person.
2. Read more classics.
3. Start and finish popsugars 2015 and 2016 reading challenge
4. Start the Rory Gilmore challenge

These are for the whole year. Not just this month.

message 7: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments I say read as many physical books unread on your shelf that you can or finish any unread series that you have

message 8: by Katrina G (new)

Katrina G | 4570 comments My two resolutions are to read more contemporaries and historical fiction books. I tend to keep away from those, but I want to start reading more of them

message 9: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (lovebeingvegan) | 13891 comments Hey team!! So excited for this new challenge!

One of my resolution for 2016 is to get my review pile down and read mostly just those books.

I'll try to think of a second resolution

message 10: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments Hey Melanie!!

message 11: by Drishti (last edited Dec 22, 2015 03:45AM) (new)

Drishti (drishti_ohri) | 1077 comments Hi team! :-)

Some of my resolutions for 2016 are to finish my unfinished series, read more classics, non-fiction and historical fiction and start and finish at least 6 series.

message 12: by Katrina G (new)

Katrina G | 4570 comments So everybody is checked in! I think now we should probably make our final decisions on out resolutions so everyone can start figuring out their tbr for January

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

I thought that we just mention our resolutions and than we can read off our own or use another team members? I did not think we had to choose from all of ours and just work on those.

message 14: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments I thought the same thing Lindsey!

message 15: by Katrina G (new)

Katrina G | 4570 comments You're right. What I was getting at is Drishti has more resolutions than the two we're allowed to make, as well as having one that's the same as one of mine. And Melanie only has one resolution at the moment. We need to finalize what all the resolutions are so I can put them in a list on the review thread so Abbie or Sarah can give us points when we start reading

message 16: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments oohhhhh I understand now!

message 17: by Katrina G (new)

Katrina G | 4570 comments As far as what I meant about the tbr's, I haven't decided what all I'm reading because I want to see what the other resolutions are so I have more options to work with before I decide for sure what I'm going to read next month

message 18: by Katrina G (new)

Katrina G | 4570 comments Heather wrote: "oohhhhh I understand now!"

Yeah, there's a lot of resolutions listed here. So I need to know which two each person is going to officially use for this challenge

message 19: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments I'm going to use these:
1. Finish my unfinished series I own
2. Read more classics

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

Got it.

Mine are in bold.

1. Read at least one (can read more) nonfiction book each week about a new person.
2. Read more classics.
3. Start and finish popsugars 2015 and 2016 reading challenge
4. Start the Rory Gilmore challenge

message 21: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (lovebeingvegan) | 13891 comments Here are my two resolutions -- finally decided!

Clean up my review pile
Read more nonfiction

--

I was so close to putting down "finish the series I started", but since others have already listed that, I figured I didn't need to :)

message 22: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments I just purchased 4 classics and have 1 already on my shelf so I am gearing up!

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

Don't know how to post pictures but here are the links to the Rory Gilmore challenge and the Popsugar ones too.

PopSugar 2016 http://www.popsugar.com/love/Reading-...

message 24: by Amy (new)

Amy | 2535 comments Mine will be -

1. Read books that I have owned for more than a year but not read yet
2. Read books that were published in the 20th Century

I hope these work? :)

message 25: by Katrina G (new)

Katrina G | 4570 comments I'm sure those will be fine Amy :)

message 26: by Drishti (new)

Drishti (drishti_ohri) | 1077 comments I have finalised my resolutions -
1. Read more historical fiction.
2. Read at least 3 thrillers.
These'll work, right?

Lindsey wrote: "Hi guys. Checking in.

Hi am not from this team but I was checking the threads out , Thanks Lindsey for introducing me to the Rory Gilmore challenge <3

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi Karen. It's a challenge I have been wanting to do and now I'm going to do it for 2016.

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

Lindsey wrote: "Hi Karen. It's a challenge I have been wanting to do and now I'm going to do it for 2016."

Im joining it too !

message 30: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments Lindsey we are allowed to use others challenges too right?

message 31: by Amy (new)

Amy | 2535 comments So for Lindsey's resolution for us to use those we just read a book from the Rory Gilmore challenge or read a book that matches a description for the Pop Sugar challenges? Maybe we should double check we'd be allowed to do that...

message 32: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments I think that she is going to complete the challenge so we have to read a book from it. I don't think there will be a problem but we can double check it!

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

I can ask but pretty much I'm only reading books on the list and ones that fit the description.

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

I asked and they work.

Here is how I worded them.

1. Books that fit the Rory Gilmore challenge
2. Books that fit Popsugars 2015 and 2016 reading challenges

message 35: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments that's what we thought but just wanted to be sure! What books are you planning to read from the Rory GIlmore Challenge? We can definitely do some buddy reads!

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't know yet. Going to print it out later and go over it.

Trying to prepare for Christmas. But I want to go over it either tonight or sometime tomorrow.

message 37: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments okay :)

message 38: by Amy (new)

Amy | 2535 comments Okay, I just wanted to clear up what we needed to do. That's quite diverse then so we shouldn't have trouble fitting in any books we want to read, fingers crossed! :)

message 39: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments Right!! I'm hoping we will be able to get a ton read in like the first two weeks for sure!

message 40: by Katrina G (new)

Katrina G | 4570 comments I don't see why we wouldn't be able to :)

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm getting a nice pile (I mean box) ready tonight of books I want to read.

message 42: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments I have no idea what books I wanna read either but, I do have a ton of series!

message 43: by Drishti (new)

Drishti (drishti_ohri) | 1077 comments There's a book fair at my school tomorrow. And, I'm all set to raid the fair! *grins wickedly*

message 44: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments Awww snap lol I am going a couple readathons before the end of the year! One started today too so I gotta get to reading!

message 45: by Drishti (new)

Drishti (drishti_ohri) | 1077 comments I am doing a read-a-thon, too. Starts on December 27. Super excited! It's gonna be my first.

message 46: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments which readathon is it?

message 47: by Drishti (new)

Drishti (drishti_ohri) | 1077 comments It's taking place in another group (Crazy for Young Adult Books) and is a week long (ends on January 2).

message 48: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments oh fun!!!

message 49: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments anyone know of any buddy reads we could do? That gives us extra points!

message 50: by [deleted user] (new)

When I get a chance to go through my books I will plan a few buddy reads.
