The idea of this challenge is to make a new years resolution (or two) that involves reading, and to stick to it! This could be any number of things -

Examples:
'I resolve to read more historical fiction'
'I resolve to take part in more buddy reads'
'I resolve to start 6 new series this year'
'I resolve to finish the series I've already started'
'I resolve to clear my review pile'

I think it's okay, and now I'm thinking it's a good idea as I still haven't read all of books from authors I love, too :D

I'll put your resolution in message 2

Are these fine?

I think those are fine, I'm not sure whether we can have the same resolution as others, though. If I'm not wrong, although each member have different resolutions, we can still read books that match with other resolutions. But I'll ask the mods about it, and get back here once they make it clear :)

Rachmi | 4882 comments Hi guys!

How're your reading? I've only managed to read two books and am reading another one now. Hopefully I can finish at least two books on this weekend :)

Mods, there is no feedback from both Siobhan and Maureen, don't we get anyone who can replace them?

We don't usually replace people in fun teams unless they have officially pulled out, and we get someone else join. As it's a 'just-for-fun' team they could pop in any time during the month ☺

Oh I thought everyone gets replace once the other one doesn't show up. It makes sense, though as we're just for fun team. My bad, sorry Sarah :)

Irena BookDustMagic | 1344 comments Too bad because it would be more interesting if our group had more members.

I am not doing well when it comes to reading.
I am not in a reading slump but always surrounded with people or sth that I just don't have as much time to read as I want to.
Plus, I am a slow reader who decided to read every single word in books this year and enjoy reading the old way, so that also brings up to my reading pace.

I am still reading the first book but hope to finish it by the end of the week.

Next week will be better, at least I hope so!

Rachmi | 4882 comments Don't worry Irena, read the books at your own pace!

I used to read like crazy, but then I just got bored and had a reading slump and I didn't even know what I just read. So I started to enjoy my reading than having so much books to read. In this case, you're right, it causes our reading pace. But it doesn't a problem for me anymore, at least I enjoy my reading, right? And that's why I join in just for fun team.

But to be honest, I sometimes miss chatting with other bookworms. I don't have many friends who love reading in real life. So I look forward to discuss books with you guys here :)

Irena BookDustMagic | 1344 comments Same here!
I feel like almost noone reads.
My friend who reads reads only crime novels for the past few years so I don't have much fo talk with her about it since I am not reading that genre that much,
And my other friend likes to read children's books but when we start to talk about books with passion it's like other ppl get annoyed by us.
We always hang out with others since I am actually a friend of his girlfriend.

That's why I just love this community, you can be yourself and passionate about books and not be judget about it.

I like that I enjoy reading but at this pace there are so many books that I just can't manage to read and I want to be participating in discussions about them.

Rachmi | 4882 comments Hehe me too. I think I can count how many friends I have who love to read. And it doesn't much! My best friend loves to read but she doesn't spend her time buried in books all the time (that's what my mom described me) and my other friend only read romance books while I love to read any genre. And the another one only read books that have already translated into my own language and by the time we want to discuss it, I've mostly already moved on to other books as translation version needs months to publish. And most of my friends don't even know what Goodreads is! One of them asked me if I don't have anything to post on my Facebook account aside books, lol.

Long story short, I'm kinda weird in my friends' eyes. And agree with you here in Goodreads I finally feel like home. I can discuss and fangirl as crazy as I want with my Goodreads friends :D
