Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Inspired by comments on another thread, tell us what you're going to be reading.

I'm looking forward to curling up on Christmas Eve with The Bazaar of Bad Dreams

Nothing like Stephen King to get one into a festive spirit.

I like the look of that, but over Christmas I'll just be reading what ever I'm reading now and whatever turns up next.

I may even get around to downloading all the stuff I have piled up at Amazon onto my new Kindle. I've forgotten what I have there, so it will be like opening presents.

message 3: by Anita (new)

Anita | 3313 comments Enjoy it Patti, I'm not a huge fan of his but have enjoyed one or two , I didn't know there was a new one out.
I have made a list of my most want to read and now I can't decide which one to start. I like your idea of curling up on Christmas Eve though, dare I say it, I'm on my own all day so I might do the same, and that does sounds like a good plan !

message 4: by Stevo (new)

Stevo (stevop) | 31 comments Over the Christmas and New Year break I'm going for The Bazaar of Bad Dreams , Finders Keepers (also by Stephen King) and Go Set a Watchman.

Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments I haven't really planned my reading - I will just see what catches my eye when I can sit down and read.

Not sure when that will be as I have a busy Christmas Eve/ Christmas day. I might sneak a bit of reading when the others are watching some film on TV.

Mum & I are going for a spa treatment on Christmas Eve (her birthday present and I said I would take her)
Then on Christmas Day I am driving mum and Misty over to my brother's for the day. We are taking a detour to call on mum's brother and deliver cards and presents that I'm collecting from mum's younger sister tonight.

message 6: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Not sure. It may well depend on whether anyone lobs over a beta-read. I always do them first. Otherwise I'll probably go for the village book group January read - get in credit! The Thoughts and Happenings of Wilfred Price, Purveyor of Superior Funerals

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments After being swept away by 'the name of the wind', I'll be reading the follow up, The Wise Man's Fear.

I will also be trying to get a book finished to the point of beta reading for a certain lady above, if she'll have it :~)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I'm sure she will... whoever she is!

I really enjoyed Finders Keepers. You've read Mr Mercedes?

You've got some good reading ahead.

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments I love the Kingkiller chronicles David. I've got several books by 'our' authors to read, but I shall also be reading seed catalogues. Phwoar.

message 12: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments You know how to live! When are you going to start? ;)

David Hadley David wrote: "After being swept away by 'the name of the wind', I'll be reading the follow up, The Wise Man's Fear.."

That's an excellent idea & one I may copy soon. I remember how good the Name of the Wind was, but never got around to reading the next one - so I ought to rectify that.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12605 comments It's looking like the book I'm currently reading, Flesh and Bone , don't think I've ever curled up on Christmas eve with a book, during the day I always go to the rescue Buster was from. I'm really behind with Stephen King, not heard of most of the ones you mention Patti

You are in for a treat David, they are great books, I do wish he would hurry up and bring number 3 out..

Your Christmas book sounds interesting Kath, let me know if you enjoy it.

Begins where book one left off, and one chapter in is just as good.

Anita and Rosie, I'm sure you're correct.

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments To start with I'll be reading Escape From B-Movie Hell but that will go to the side for Christmas day to read a couple of Christmas books and short story anthologies. Including the one to go with my favourite Christmas advert, Mog's Christmas Calamity.

message 18: by Anita (new)

Anita | 3313 comments Mot sounds ok to me Claire. Have you finished for Christmas?

Yes! I'm all done now :) If I wasn't so worn out I'd be doing a dance in the living room!

message 20: by Anita (new)

Anita | 3313 comments Yay ! I'd dance with you but my legs have just gone on strike. Have relaxing day tomorrow and safe journey home. Bet you can't wait !

message 22: by Tim (new)

Tim | 8539 comments I shall be reading that festive classic, "The Radio Times".

Other than that, there are several books I've started and need to finish. Plus I've just got a new Audible credit. There will be no Stephen King.

A.L. Butcher (alb2012) | 1608 comments I'm re-reading Hogfather and also a book about murder in the Channel Islands (very festive).

Not sure what's next after that.

They're all classic Christmas stories so I'm looking forward to snuggling up with some more later. In fact I might read some now, Mum and I are waiting for the other two surface!

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments Mog's Christmas Calamity Patti?

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Yes, I think so, Claire.

Being sold for charity?

Where can I get one for our school library?

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Why did no-one give me that??

message 46: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments Sainsbury's have them, it's the book the sainsburys advert was based on. If you want I'll have a look tomorrow when I'm passing and I can post it to you if I find one?

message 47: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21812 comments And the kindle copy is about 60p cheaper than the paperback!
