Devon Book Club discussion

I was delighted to receive a copy of Brief Candle in the Dark: My Life in Science by Richard Dawkins. A controversial and sometimes abrasive thinker and writer. I heard hom recently being interviewed oin radio 3 about this book and thought him wonderfully clear thinking, and incredibly well read.

What books did you receive?

We received Richard Ford's 'Let Me be Frank With You.'Let Me Be Frank With You from brother-in-law.
I hope it's as good as all the reviews suggest.

Will be interested to hear what you think of Brief Candle in the Dark, Ian, as I always find Dawkins extremely interesting, and haven't read that book yet.

The Hare With Amber Eyes: A Family's Century of Art and Loss and Ex Libris: Confessions of a Common Reader were both exciting gifts. Looking forward to reading them.

Ive read Independence Day, which I enjoyed so hope that will be a good one for you

Thrilled to unwrap The Lives of Others by Neel Mukherjee, just love the cover design, and also Andrew Marr's political thriller . Looking forward to some cosy reading sessions by the fire during the long winter evenings.

I've received Faeries, Elves and Goblins: The Old Stories by Rosalind Kerven, which feels like an unusual book for the National Trust to publish.
