I was delighted to receive a copy of Brief Candle in the Dark: My Life in Science by Richard Dawkins. A controversial and sometimes abrasive thinker and writer. I heard hom recently being interviewed oin radio 3 about this book and thought him wonderfully clear thinking, and incredibly well read.

What books did you receive?

Carol Dobson | 798 comments We received Richard Ford's 'Let Me be Frank With You.'Let Me Be Frank With You from brother-in-law.
I hope it's as good as all the reviews suggest.

Carol Dobson | 798 comments Will be interested to hear what you think of Brief Candle in the Dark, Ian, as I always find Dawkins extremely interesting, and haven't read that book yet.

Angela Hobbs | 213 comments Thrilled to unwrap The Lives of Others by Neel Mukherjee, just love the cover design, and also Andrew Marr's political thriller Head of State by Andrew Marr . Looking forward to some cosy reading sessions by the fire during the long winter evenings.

B J Burton (bjburton) | 314 comments I've received Faeries, Elves and Goblins: The Old Stories by Rosalind Kerven, which feels like an unusual book for the National Trust to publish.
