I know, I know, Nina! I know in part from your reviews. I just keep forgetting to open the file when I know I'm going to be on my computer for a while. In fact, I forget how to access it. Maybe I need to make understanding digital books my new year's resolution. I even have a kindle someone gave me because he upgraded but I haven't learned how to fully use it. I swear I understand how to make a digital book better than I know how to view one.

Sorry I have been missing for most of 2016. Life got busy and threatens to remain busy in the coming year. My goal for next year may be to read one poem a week instead of thinking in terms of books. I need to fit some poetry in somehow! Many thanks to those who have kept the fire burning this year!

So nice to see you here, Jen! I like your idea of reading one poem per week. Sometimes I do wonder whether there is something detrimental about focusing on the poetry book as a unit, rather than focusing on the single poem as a unit, and maybe switching from a book-centered approach to a poem-centered approach would do wonders for my perspective.

Thank for the encouragement. Maybe next year we can add a section to this group for those only able to read a poem a week.

Hoping to get one more read in the next couple of days to make it at least half way :)

Seasonal Works with Letters on Fire by Brenda Hillman
The first is carried over from 2014 so I need to tackle it this year. The physical bulk was the main problem in 2015. Post-hysterectomy I haven't wanted something that heavy resting on my belly. But I think my gut can support it now.
The Colby suffered from the exact opposite problem: it's an ebook. Out of sight, out of mind. I have yet to think of my computer as a place to sit down and read a book. Websites, yes. Books, no. I need to get over that this year because from what I've seen from this group she's a wonderful poet.
Otherwise, I'm hoping to swing toward chapbooks this year. I've had a couple of years of focusing on long volumes of poetry and I'm needing a rest from marathons even though the last one was a good trip.
