I have done a couple that were not all that exciting because nobody posted much at all.

Post whatever whenever using spoiler tags. Because I have so many books I read each month it's difficult for me to read by sections. I need to hurry, read the book, then move on to the next book.

I was pretty sure that both her parents would be dead but at least now she knows the truth. I think it will harden her and she will perhaps be more successful in a second escape should she try. (hide spoiler)] This book is really interesting. I like it a lot. You?

I'll be starting this in about an hour after the kids go to bed. I was hoping to be done with Winter first but this damn book is taking for-freaking-ever. And I'm even listening to the audiobook at 2x speed. Ugh. I need a break for a bit so it's the perfect time to start Memoirs.

I have Winter to read this year as well. I read all so far but Fairest. Did you read that one? I hear it is not as good as the first three and not necessary to read.

I read Fairest and loved it. Not necessary, but I think very helpful. It's a really full-fleshed story.

Mameha is talking to Chiyo about Hatsumomo's poor treatment of her.

"Don't you find it off that Mrs. Nitta has never adopted Hatsumomo as her daughter? The Nitta okiya must be the wealthiest in Gion without an heir. By adopting Hatsumomo not only would Mrs Nitta solve tha problem but all of Hatsumomo's earnings would then be kept by the Okiya, without a single sen of it paid out to Hatsimomo herself. And Hatsimomo is a very successful geisha! You'd think Mrs Nitta whose as fond of money as anyone would have adopted her a long time ago. She must have a very good reason not to do so don't you think?

My planning was not a whole lot better Krissy. I am in the middle of three other buddy reads in addition to this one. I have listened to a lot of this on audiobook. It is a good story though.

Yeah like him too. I am at 74% now. What I don't understand is her obsession with the Chairman. Does she love him or what is the deal?

I don't remember her ever using the word "love" but she is definitely extremely infatuated. All because of the thing that happened when she was younger

I honestly loved the first third of the book but then it was not as interesting for me. The characters start to get on my nerves. I can't give it a star rating because I believe I chose a busy time to read it and didn't absorb all that was in the book. I did like it but did not love it. I think it is a book I should re-read at a less busy time in my life.

I think I am going to try and watch this movie some time.
