I started Divergent on the 2nd & finished it on the 3rd! I've been wanting to read the series for awhile now & even more since the film was released. I wanted to read the book first :) That was my motivation.

I also finished Free Four: Tobias Tells the Story. It's #1.5 and it takes a section of Divergent and retells from Fours POV. You don't really learn anything new but if you want to read the WHOLE series than it's a must.

Now I'm halfway through Insurgent! I was supposed to leave it for next week's Bout of Books readathon. What can I say? Addicted!

Oooh, you've almost convinced me to just go and buy the kindle version already! I'm still waiting for my turn with the library copy.

LaVerne Clark (laverneclark) | 195 comments Well, I caved and bought a kindle copy and started reading last night. So far, I'm enjoying it. It reminds me of The Hunger Games, but even better.

Melinda Szymanik (writermel) | 175 comments I had higher hopes for this book. Feeling a bit disappointed after finishing it yesterday

Sue (tog1) | 47 comments I'm also thinking this is a bit of a bandwagon book, if you get my drift. But don't be disappointed Melinda, if this is such a runaway success there's hope for the rest of us!

LaVerne Clark (laverneclark) | 195 comments I know how you feel Melinda. I was hovering between 3 and a 4 star, but made it a four because if I hadn't have been expecting more from it from the rave reviews, that is what I would have rated it. I enjoyed it but I'm not invested enough to read the rest in the series.

Angie (seren-lucy) | 1147 comments I'm halfway through and feeling the same way.

P.D.R. Lindsay (pdrlindsay) | 1760 comments Trouble is that many rave reviews or a really happy reading experience by the same author in a previous book set up impossible expectations.

I bet if you reread the book after this session you'll find it a better read. I always have to do this with the new Sir T. Pratchett

Angie (seren-lucy) | 1147 comments I actually ended up giving it 4 stars. It grew on me. Enough to read the rest of the series in the next month or two.

Natasha | 2 comments I enjoyed this book. Although the same sort of genre as the Hunger Games Trilogy I didn't find it a "bandwagon" book, and I felt the writing was much better. I enjoyed it so much so that I immediately read the next two books as well.

The last one I was disappointed with, but I wonder if that was more to do with my own expectations perhaps.

Sue (tog1) | 47 comments I confess I've been reading something else instead since the lukewarm comments here, but in view of the last two or three will be restarting with renewed hope.

Sharlene (sharlenehuriwai) | 595 comments Mod
I'm up to the last book. Once I start a series, I like to finish it quickly so I don't struggle revisiting characters later on.

I like where the story has gone in Allegiant. Book 2 brings a little more emotion and I'm hoping book 3 finishes with a bang!

Sweetp-1 | 402 comments Has anyone seen the movie, how does it compare?

Sharlene will be interested to see what you think of book 3! I had mixed emotions...
