This thread is for suggestions and questions. The thread for participants is here https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

1. ‘M’ is for May: Read a book that starts with 'M' or a book whose author's first or last name starts with 'M'.

2. Member of the Month: Jojo- Jojo has been a member of the RRRC since August 2011. Here is the link to Jojo’s shelves https://www.goodreads.com/review/list... - Please read a book from any of Jojo's shelves; a book published in 2011; or in August of any year.

3. Geography: Finland- Read a book whose author, character, or setting is from Finland.

Fun Facts About Finland:
★The amount you get fined for speeding in Finland depends on the amount you earn. Traffic fines are based on two factors: the severity of the offense and the driver’s income.

★Finland is known to be the Land of a Thousand Lakes. There are exactly 187,888 lakes (larger than 500 m²) and 179,584 islands within the territory of Finland.

★It is also called The Land of Midnight Sun, because in June and July the sun shines all day and all night in the north, not dropping below the horizon.

You may also read a book that is about cars, speeding, or law enforcement; a book that is set near a body of water or has a lake/water on the cover; or read a book that is set in summer (June & July in the US is summer) or has a sun on the cover.

4. May Day (May 1): Spring is in the air! Read a book that the genre, author, or series is new to you.

5. Cinco De Mayo (May 5): Read a book that is 5th in the series, takes place in Mexico, has a character that is Mexican, or a book with five words in the title.

6. National Teacher’s Day (May 6): Read a book that is about teaching (can be any type of teaching, maybe an “experienced” person teaches an “inexperienced” person ), has a character that is a teacher or has an apple on the cover

7. .Mother’s Day (May 11):Read a book where a character in the story is a mother/mother figure, caretaker, pregnant, or has kids.

8. Memorial Day (May 26):Read a book that is about being in the military and/or someone who has served.

9. May Flowers: May’s flower is Lily of the Valley, read a book with a character or author with the name Lily or any other flower name; or has a scene that traditionally involves flowers ( garden party, wedding, funeral etc ) ; the name of a flower in the title or series name; or any book that has flowers on the cover.

10. Reader's Choice: Read any book of your choice.

Challenge Duration: May 1 to May 31, 2014

You can choose 3, 5, 8 or all 10 categories depending on your reading speed, book availability and/or time commitment.

When posting your challenge progress, please make sure to put the date/s when you finished your book/s. Please repost your progress as it helps when updating.

Happy Reading!

Nicola | 649 comments Hello!
For May Flowers does the title of the book have to have the name of a flower, or can it actually contain the word flower?

message 15: by Elke (new)

Elke (ejurca) | 1810 comments Hi Nicola,

It has to be a name of an actual flower. Sorry
