Hello Lisa, I love traveling to Britain and I hope you are well over there. You might give Bill O'Reilly's "Killing Jesus" a try. Although it's technically non-fiction, it has strong fictional uder-tones (and some very determined women characters). Which brings up the question: when does history Palette Knife A Novel of Love, Intrigue, and Nazi Terror by R. Manolakas become fiction? You might also try another book, since you like strong women characters, which this one has (although the main character is a man), set 1n 1937 Berlin. Actually, it is my new book! Cheers, R. Manolakas

Anthony Whitt | 102 comments Hello, I'm Anthony and I've been a member for a while , but for some reason never got around to introducing myself. Too many irons in the fire. Just finished a historical-fiction trilogy about the life and death struggles of a family on the Texas frontier after the Civil War. Writing is where most of my time has been devoted for the last six years and now I'm free to enjoy a little spare time. And the spare time is still hard to come by, but I look forward to engaging with the folks in this group.

Alaric the King | 83 comments Hi, I'm Sam and writing a historical fiction novel set in 6th century Britain. I really enjoyed the novel "I, Claudius" by Robert Graves.

As an aside, if anyone is interested in beta-reading what I've written so far (~50,000 words), I'd be more than happy to beta-read something of yours in return, especially historical fiction.

Kristina Hi! I'm Kristina and I do love a good historical fiction and I definitely want to spread it out a little more because I feel like I haven't read enough! i don't really stick to any one area but I do really enjoy Jeanne Kalogridis!

Miles Atkinson | 1 comments Hi everyone

Been on GoodReads for a while now but I've made an early (or is that very late?) New Years resolution to get more active on the forums and to join in the discussions. Hoping to expand my historical fiction horizons too. My personal interest tends more to the military and political rather than the social. Period-wise I tend to gravitate more towards Ancient, Medieval and Early Modern - so Robert Fabbri, Simon Scarrow and Toby Clements feature quite prominently on my Kobo. Looking forward to chatting.
