Well, I'm listening to it and find the voicing to be very odd. Jericho is supposed to be a young alpha male, right? I just keep picturing him as an old leprechaun-looking guy because that's how the voice sounds. It's hard to get everything straight in my head. If I continue with the series, I'll definitely have to switch to print.

If I remember correctly, the audios improve after the first one. That one was a bit rough I believe. The narrators change in this series too. So you might want to at least check out the audios before passing them by.

I actually read the first book, so Kat is probably right. I'm pretty sure I listened from book 3 onwards?

message 22: by Connie N. (new)

Connie N. | 1317 comments Oh good. I'm enjoying the book so far except for Jericho's voice. So I'll give the next one a try in audio too. Thanks for the info.

message 23: by lorii (Loriidae) (last edited Jan 15, 2016 02:08PM) (new)

lorii (Loriidae) The narrator makes such a difference to how we enjoy a book. I am currently listening to Tangled Reins a Regency by Stephanie Laurens. I have read it many times before, but in the audio the heroine who is strong and independent has a really soft ethereal voice making her seem really hesitant at odds to the words she is saying.

I am getting used to it but I was tempted not to continue after my first gym session. (The only way I can cope with the head banging music at the gym. I always choose to listen to a book I have already read as I can miss bits with everything going on around me.)

message 24: by Connie N. (new)

Connie N. | 1317 comments So true, Loriidae. I know what you mean about countering loud music with an audiobook. But I tend to listen when I'm mowing the lawn, drowning out the loud machine noise with something a lot more enjoyable.

Domino (aka Meme) (bryghtstarr) | 409 comments finished Mark of the Demon now listening to Beneath These Chains (Beneath, #3) by Meghan March .

Texas Kissing by Helena Newbury I read Texas Kissing during the week and I wasn't impressed. I gave it 2 stars. This was a new author to me too. The only reason I finished it was because I had it for a challenge, otherwise I would have given up before the half way mark.
