Steve Snr (SteveJonesSnr) | 13 comments How can I get a review from someone who's reviews are highly rated. Might seem a cynical question, but I'm sure it has been posed before.
Are there such people? How would I find them?

Sandra Bernice | 8 comments All reviews are good to have, respected or not. When I view a book and see that someone has taken the time to not only read the book, but thought it good enough to post a good review, it makes me wont to read it. If a book has been on the shelf for a lengthy time and there aren't any, i´m tempted to move on. Believe me, I know were your coming from, I´m in the same boat. That is why I can say " ALL REVIEWS ARE WELCOMED REVIEWS"

Steve Snr (SteveJonesSnr) | 13 comments I agree, all reviews are welcome, but it would be good to have an objective, unsolicited opinion from someone who would read my work and tell me what they really think. Good or bad!

message 4: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Baeringer | 2 comments I also agree all reviews are important. I actually prefer reviews from common folk like myself because they are unbiased. I would put more stock in a review from a common person than anyone of fame or value. Just like movie critics. If they say a movie is good but my friend said it stunk then I would listen to my friend. Unbiased opinions are what I am drawn to.

If you really mean it, I'll do that in exchange for a review of my stalker/thriller.

Dan Jackson | 6 comments Hi there..

I agree..every review good or bad is a review that count.
If you have a picture children's book, you can send it to me for an honest review.

Dan

Medavis66 | 58 comments All of my reviews are honest. I mainly read romance, but can fit others in if requested to do so. If you need me, email me and ask what my tbr list looks like. I typically read a 200-page book a day, most days anyways.

I figure it is my time being spent on the reading and it is my opinion...so I'm going to make it real.

Sorry I've not been on the sight for a while -busy preparing for a book fair.-
If either of you would like me to give a fair and honest review to your work, I´d be glad to read your books.
I would ask you to return the favour, but my latest work is still being edited. I wait with bated breath to see what he thinks of it. Good luck with yourbooks

Tracie Podger (traciepodger) | 3 comments All reviews are useful Steve. One thing to keep in mind is the person checking out your reviews probably won't notice who the 'highly rated' reviewers are!

Hello Dan,
Here's a link to my children's eBook in Amazon. If you would like me to send you a PDF file, I'll be happy to do so. Please let me know.

Steve Snr (SteveJonesSnr) | 13 comments Thanks all for your views. I don't have much time for reading these days unfortunately(between my day job, working on my house and writing when I can).
Also finding myself on the dreaded Twitter a lot recently trying to raise my profile that way. Anyone have any success in that direction? I'm a little green at 'tweeting' and could use all the help I can get!!!!
Thanks,
Steve @stevejonessnr

Tracie Podger (traciepodger) | 3 comments Steve, I find twitter quite a useful marketing tool but it's a little like groundhog day! I'm a believer in that your fans want to know a little about you so some of my tweets are about my book, some are retweets of something interesting and the rest is normal chat. I've acquired quite a few followers that way. Retweeting is a good way to bump up your followers. It all comes down to the one thing, the more you put in the more you'll get out. Looking at your tweets though, you seem to be doing just fine :)

Tracie Podger (traciepodger) | 3 comments There is one thing Steve, I find visuals tend to get shared a lot more than text. Have you come up with any promotional posts?

message 14: by Lynn (new)

Lynn Lovegreen (lynn_lovegreen) I heard a good analogy today: there is no audience. Twitter is more like a party, where you are talking with friends, not shouting about your book. Relax and be yourself, and follow/retweet people who resonate with you. (This is all my personal opinion, of course. Do what works for you.)

Steve, in the top menu, click on the arrow beside Explore. A drop down box will appear. Under Community, click People. On the right you'll see a list that looks like this:
top users
top readers
top reviewers
most popular reviewers
best reviews
online now
most followed
top librarians
recent statuses
recent reviews

Click on any of those and look for reviewers who read your genre and contact them. Good luck!

Hi Tracie, I'm looking around for some images to use for promotion, but finding it difficult to find suitable images that don't either cost the earth or breach somebody's copyright. Any suggestions?

Thanks Carol, I'll give that a try :)

Hi Tracie,
I think I'm getting the hang of building my following, up to almost 1K now, but think I need to find more ways of reaching readers rather than writers!
