Executive decision--name and 1 initial plus the last name. SSOOOO Laurell K. Hamilton would be ok, but J.R. Ward would not be. (Which means that J.R.R. Tolkien is also off the table--and I am thinking seriously about reading the ENTIRE series--including the "extras" that he wrote for himself to keep his mythology straight. Guess I'll put that off for another month--especially since now that I think about it--May will be a really bad month for me, reading wise, as that's the month that I will be moving in. . . )

You are required to always do 10 books if you want to complete the entire challenge. This is one of the months that has a "special" challenge in it, but you are not required to do that special, you can just do the regular challenge. Or, if you are going to not have a lot of time this month (raising hand) you could just do the "special".
However, having said all of that, there are people who don't ever get that many read--this is mostly a way to challenge YOURSELF, so if all you normally read is say 4 books a month, to challenge yourself you might decide to up your count to 5.
This is one of the challenge months that also allows you a little more lee-way in your books. You don't have to do a specified number of books in any of the 3 categories. So, if you want to read all of the books in a series, that's ok, as long as the author's name meets the requirements or the titles meet the requirements (3's this month, all 3's.) :o)

Another “special challenge” this month. We are going back..."
I just recently found the book challenge posts and so am still trying to get the hang of what you all want. Thanks it is a lot of fun.
So, I am looking for a little added clarification. I don't believe it was in any of the tree posts, or was there more and I missed it.
3 words (The, And, An, A do not count for the word counts)
So I am guessing also "of"?
Such as in Witches of East End
What about a book that fits into more than one category? Should we just put it in one and try and find others?
Such as Shade from the Young adult paranormal trilogy byJeri Smith-Ready?

Another “special challenge” this month. We are going back (sort of) to the roots of the Romance genre. Your author challenge this month is for Barbara Cartland, who died in May of 2000 at the age of 99. In addition to being the Queen of Romance she was also the step-grandmother of Lady Diana, Princess of Wales. So your special challenge this month is to read a story where one of the characters is a king/queen/prince/princess--of whatever stripe. Werewolf, vampire, alien, human, we'll accept any of them.
And the regular challenge is another oldie.
The Power of Three challenge—the author must use 3 names (ex. Jane Ann Krentz), the title of the book must have 3 words in it (ex. Sparrow Hill Road—The, And, An, A do not count for the word counts) or the book must be #3 in its series OR it must be part of a trilogy (and ONLY a trilogy—no 4, 5, 6 lengths for this requirement—if the series had more than 3 books, then it MUST be the third book.)
