Captivated by You
question
Are Sequels coming or should we boycott?

I will start with Ms. Sylvia Day. I love Ms. Day’s books as do I love the books of the other authors below, but I think I will boycott her and the others for some time until they make things right with their readers.
Ms. Day currently has at least 5 series she has left in limbo from 10+ months up to 6+ years. Tell me Ms. Day why should I buy your books when I have to wait that long to read them? I will start with the Crossfire Series as it has the least hang time.
The “Crossfire” series book 3 “Entwined With You” was published on June 4th 2013. We are currently waiting for book 4 “Captivated By You” to be released. So far it has been 10 months and 19 days and there is still no word on a release date. This series started with “Bared To You” on April 3, 2012 (according to GoodReads) approx. 6 months later in Oct. 2012 we got “Reflected In You” then we got “Entwined With You” on June 4, 2013 approx. 8 months later. So far this wait time, of 10 months and 19 days, although aggravating, is not your worst and I hope we won’t have to wait much longer.
The “Renegade Angels” series book 2 “A Hunger So Wild” was published on July 3rd 2012. We are currently waiting on book 3 “A Taste of Seduction|”. So far we have been waiting 1 year 9 months and 20 days. But this is not even your worse wait time Ms. Day.
The “Dangerous” series book 1 “All Revved Up” was published on February 22nd 2011. We are currently waiting on book 2 “Stripped Down”. This series has left us hanging for 3 years, 2 months and 1 day. Yes, it gets even worse than this people.
The “Sapphire World” trilogy book 1 “In The Flesh” was published on June 2nd 2009 and was recently re-released. This book leaves you with a major cliff-hanger. Why bother re-releasing a book that you still don’t have sequel for? Ms. Day has already left thousands of us waiting for 4 years, 10 months and 21 days now. Yet this is still not Ms. Day’s worst hang time.
The “Dream Guardians” series book 2 “Heat of the Night” was published on January 8th 2008. We are currently waiting on book 3 “Rhythms of the Night” and a book 4 with no title. So far we have been waiting 6 years, 3 months and 15 days for these sequels. YES over Six years! Really Ms. Day that is really unbelievable.
I will now move on to Ms. Maya Banks. While not as bad as Ms. Day I simply do not understand why authors continue to put out new stories/series (for example the new “Slow Burn” series by Ms. Banks) before finishing the projects they have us hanging on for. Why not wrap up the series that everyone is currently reading? Take the “Montgomerys and Armstrongs” series. Book 3 “Highlander Ever After” is not going to be published until summer 2015. June 21 is the start of summer in 2015. Using that date it means we will have waited at the very least 2 years 3 months and 2 days since the publication of book 2 “Highlander Most Wanted”. That book was published on March 19th 2013. Much too long of a wait for a continuing story.
Then there is her “Tangled Heart” series. Book 1 “Theirs to Keep” was published on October 22, 2013 that being 6 months ago and book 2 “Always Mine” and book 3 “Forever Ours” don’t even have release dates. So I ask, why buy book 1 when you have no idea how long you could wait for the sequels? Sorry, Ms. Banks you won't get my money until ALL the books have been released.
I am now moving onto Ms. Lora Leigh. I only have one book series of hers that is on my list. You may have more. I am talking about the “Callahan” series. Book 3 “Secret Sins” was published on November 27th 2012. We are currently waiting on book 4 “Ultimate Sins”. It now has an expected publication date of August 26, 2014. That puts 1 year and 9 months between book 3 and 4. Too long in my opinion.
Now on to Ms. Tina Reber. Her “Love” series has had long wait times in my opinion. We are currently waiting on book 3 “Love Unguarded”. Book 2 “Love Unrehearsed” was published on September 14th 2012. That makes a 1 year, 7 month, 9 day wait and still no release date for book 3. How much longer Ms. Reber?
I am finishing with the worst offender Stephenie Meyer and her yet unfinished Midnight Sun. In June 2008 the following update was placed on Ms. Meyer’s website:
“Update: In response to the outrageous number of emails that I have received with questions concerning Midnight Sun, I talked to Stephenie this weekend and she asked me to let everyone know that Midnight Sun is her next project. She has not yet finished writing it (and there is no timeline set up, so we all need to put a lot of effort into being patient for a while longer), but she is definitely still planning on having it published. And, after Breaking Dawn comes out, Stephenie will have much more time to focus on writing Midnight Sun.”
This update was 5 years, 10+ months ago and Breaking Dawn has been out for a very long time.
I understand that having someone betray her trust and leak a rough draft was very upsetting to this author. However, don’t tell your fans that “Midnight Sun is her next project” and "she is definitely still planning on having it published" then never finish it or put any further updates on your website. If you are not going to finish “Midnight Sun” Ms. Meyer’s then just tell us that rather than giving us false hope.
Plus, it appears to me that Ms. Myers really doesn't care what her fans have to say as she has no contact information on her website. I guess she just doesn't care about her fans now that she has her millions from all of us. She is on my boycott list for sure.
In closing, I realize that publication dates get bumped and other problems arise but please authors stop leaving us hanging for so long. I have found many new authors while waiting on the ones above and they put there “Series” out quickly. So, I have moved on. How many others have done the same thing authors? Something to think about!
Well, this is my list of authors that need to step it up. Who do you think belongs on this list?

I was thinking of stating a couple of those Sylvia Day series, particularly the Dream Guardian one. But I think I won't even bother now if she's left them all hanging! Nothing I hate more than an unfinished series.
Don't get me started on the Crossfire series.... I have lost much interest in her books and won't read any of them unless I know the whole series is completed.
To me Lisa Valdez belongs on this list. Waiting for Primrose (book 3 in her Passion QUARTET!!! serie) since 2010. Book 1 was published en 2005, book 2 in 2010 :/
As for Sylvia Day, her excuses for the delayed publication are lame for me. I bet she is working on her tv script rather than on her book story . I fear the worst for the Crossfire trilooo*"*"*"... serie!

You know who has it down? Abbi Glines, she rocks out like 4 a year and I love both series she has going.
I agree. The crossfire series was really good but when she changed it from 3 books to 5 I lost interest. I will no longer read any of her books. The wait time between her books is unforgivable and it just shows how uninterested she is in her fan base.
Speaking of unfinished series , what about Lucy Covington's Addicted to You series?? I have been patiently waiting, and waiting and waiting..... I liked the characters and became invested in them, I would like some kind of wrap up.
