Completed 4/15

Debbie - Never Love An Outlaw by Nicole Snow Finished 2/2 ★★★★
hmmm where to start....Megan and Skin are not your typical couple that's for sure. Megan is a very wealthy woman whom was saving herself for her husband...but that doesn't mean that she's a prude and Skin...well hell he's patched into an outlaw motorcycle club need I say more? Megan is with friends at a party when she wanders off by herself and is lured away and drugged by Ricky a slimy pimp that keeps her chained to a bed and makes her give BJs to customers until he can find someone to purchase her and because she's a virgin she will be sold to the highest bidder not some typical john. Skin and his brothers go to shake down Ricky at his "Trucker Spa" and that is when he see's Megan and knows something is wrong he talks to her privately and she tells him who she really is, not "Fresh" as Ricky calls her, and she tells him that Ricky drugged her and keeps her chained up when she's not servicing John's. Nothing happens between Skin and Megan sexually when he is talking with her like Ricky thinks and its safer for everyone to keep him believing that he enjoyed his time with her. Little does Ricky know that Skin is going to do everything he can to get her away from him.
This was a great story the chemistry between Skin and Megan wasn't forced and seeing the way things played out really solidified the way they felt towards one another. I look forward to reading the rest of this series the Deadly Pistols MC has a lot of interesting characters to build on.

Donna - Addicted to You by Serena Grey Finished 2/4 ★★★★
I'm on the fence about how I want to rate this one...its between 3 and 4 so I guess 3.5 is my actual rating. I am really enjoying this series but this book was a little disappointing because the way Rachel was acting. The entire book was about her keeping her feelings to herself and running away every time something spooked her. Don't get me wrong, the book was still filled with smoking hot sex and the delicious Landon Court is truly book boyfriend material.

Jane(PS) - The Billion Dollar Contract: The Executive Collection by Cynthia Dane Finished 2/3 ★★★★
This is the second time I read this series and I loved it. Jasmine and Ethan are great together. I am sure I will be re-reading this series again.

Sassafrass - Drawn to You by Serena Grey Finished 2/4 ★★★★
This was a good start to the series. I love the chemistry between Landon and Rachel. Rachel's ex-boyfriend Jack needs a good smack up the side of his head and I really hope he doesn't get between Rachel and Landon's happiness. Landon seems like he could be good book boyfriend material but only time will tell. I hope these two broken people can find solace in one another. Lots and Lots of SMOKING HOT sex scenes, keep that in mind when you get ready to read...you might want to keep some water and a fan next to you while reading.

I'm on the last book now and it's really enjoyable. I have to say once you get past Rachel's insecurities it's definitely a good time. ;) Did I mention all the HOT sex scenes...LOL

Penney Bear Necessities (Bad Boy Alphas): A Post-Apocalyptic Bear Shifter Romance by Selena Kitt Finished 2/6 ★★★★
This, as is with most of Selena Kitt's books, was a HOT quick read. Ivy is all alone in the forest - the end of the world had come and she was scrounging around for berries to eat when she happens upon a bear. Little did she know that bear was a shifter named Caleb, so she ran and ran until she found someplace safe. HA! little girl don't you know that when you are all alone in the woods that there is no place that is safe! Anyway, Caleb finds her at his house and...the rest is history. I have to say that this was to short for me, I wanted more, I am hoping that this will be a series. I know the author's blurb says it's a standalone but I am hoping she changes her mind. The chemistry was great with a natural progression and the secondary characters open a wide opportunity to expand on this book.

message 185: by Emerson (new)

Emerson Hawthorne | 157 comments Grace, I just finished Shoulda Been a Cowboy (Rough Riders, #7) by Lorelei James and really enjoyed it. Different from the others in the series, but a nice change. Cam and Domini are a very quiet and more introspective couple than the other McKays. Thank you for the recommendation.

Jojo - A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness 02/10/16 ★★★★
This book was pretty slow paced, but overall I liked the story and the storyline. The last half the pace changed a bit, and the end definitely made me want to continue the series.

MKat - The Next Always by Nora Roberts 02/09/16 ★★★★.5
I loved this book. It was a great romance, and the addition of kids in this story was super cute. I also liked the addition of the ghost. I could also picture just how the Inn would come to look like. Can't wait to read the next 2 books.

Shelby - Conspiracy in Death by J.D. Robb 02/03/16 ★★★★★
I don't think I can read a book about Eve and Roarke and not love it. It almost killed me when Eve was suspended from work. I loved how Roarke handled that situation.

Connie N. | 1317 comments I know what you mean, Anita, about The Next Always. I got started on that book one day, and then spent the rest of the weekend reading the whole trilogy. Each book was so good in its own way.

Anita Reads | 170 comments Yes, this is when Nora Roberts is best.
I don't know when I'll have time to read the next two, but I'm going to try and fit them in as soon as possible.

Connie N. | 1317 comments Group 2 - Anita - Conspiracy in Death by J.D. Robb - 2/8/16 ♥♥♥♥
I see we were both reading this book at the same time, Anita. I always love Eve and Roarke, but this one just didn't quite have the oomph that they usually do, in my opinion. But, really, think about it--I'm still giving it 4 stars, just not the 5-star rating I usually give. How bad could it be?

Bonus - ~Melissa~ - I Wish You Were Mine by Lauren Layne - 2/6/16 ♥♥♥♥
I just love Lauren Layne, and this is an excellent series following along from her Stiletto series. I really "get" her characters and find them so appealing. There's always a bit of humor to lighten things up.

message 192: by Anita Reads (new)

Anita Reads | 170 comments I guess I can see why some would give it a lower rating. I was just really touched by the situation this time.

I love Lauren Layne. I am enjoying her Oxford trilogy. I need to go back and finish the last two Stiletto books.

Completed 6/15

Zara - Fight for Her: The Complete Series by J.J. Knight Finished 2/11 ★★★★★
This is a great box set. I had read all of these books individually when they were released and just reread them again. Parker and Maddie are great together and this is a good second chance at love story.
Fight for Her, Volume 1
Parker "Power Play" whom we meet in the Revenge Series is missing his little girl. Lily is about to turn four years old and he hasn't seen her in two years. Maddie ran off to New York when she was six months pregnant leaving Parker behind without a word.
I must say I'm a fan of J.J. Kight and she didn't disappoint with Fight for Her Vol. 1 you can feel the raw emotions that run between Parker and Maddie. This was a great start to Parker's story.
Fight for Her, Volume 2
Parker and Maddie are trying to find their way back together for their daughter as well as themselves. They have been in love since they were in high school but when she left him for years ago and he didn't follow her, she thought she lost him forever.
This volume picks up right where the first one left off, with Parker losing his MMA fight. Parker is worried that Maddie is going to run away again like she did when she witnessed his last loss. Thankfully Maddie is determined to see how this plays out for her sake as well as their daughters.
We're left off another crazy cliffhanger.
Fight for Her, Volume 3
Maddie was kidnapped by Striker in volume two's cliffhanger and that is where volume three picks up. Parker, along with Colt and Jo set out to find Maddie and have enlisted the help of Jax and Sam. The sex scenes are intense as we have come to expect with Parker and Maddie especially since Maddie uses sex to center herself.
And as usual the queen of cliffhangers does it again!!!!
Fight for Her, Volume 4
Great ending to the series for Parker and Maddie. I really enjoyed seeing Maddie get riled up and fighting for what she wanted instead of hiding away which is what Lani and Striker wanted. Parker and Maddie's relationship is hot and steamy, fierce yet fragile, they have a lot to work through but they are both determined so that should be enough.
