D.G. | 1 comments Oops, triple message! I'll leave it there in case I'm the captain - I can do it unless somebody else wants to do it instead.

I'm D.G., 39, married with no kids. I read pretty much every genre although this month I'm on a re-reading spree. :) Really looking forward to meeting and reading with you all - I'll send friend requests to everybody who's not already my friend. ;)

LOL, I thought you did that on purpose to save those spots.

message 11: by Mary X (last edited Jan 11, 2016 12:55PM) (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 948 comments Harry Dresden's Love Slave is currently in mourning for David Bowie. (just explaining the name)

I really need to got through my series and see what I have for what and if I should be putting library books on hold. Hard to plan too much for this one since we don't know where we'll land.

I do not want to be captain, btw.

message 12: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 948 comments anyway,

I'm Mary, 46, divorced single mom of an 18yr old daughter and a 7 yr old dog. Currently going back to school to finish my bachelor's in business but don't worry, I still manage a lot of audio books so getting one done each week should not be a problem at all.

DG and I are old pals from our days on paperbackswap.

message 13: by Mary X (last edited Jan 12, 2016 07:13AM) (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 948 comments I copy/pasted the spaces list above into a challenge tracking thread of mine and I'll go through and fill in some spots. But I'll probably just do the ones I think might be hard for me to fill. It takes me forever to get though a print book now that I'm back to school. So I need to take stock of my e-book and audio stash.

Also time to go on a library book holding spree for my ongoing series.

message 14: by D.G. (new)

D.G. | 1 comments Gosh, Mary...I can't believe your daughter is 18! I still remember when you were married!

message 15: by D.G. (new)

D.G. | 1 comments Here's how I plan for this challenge:

I only look at the 11 possible spots that will be in play, which for the first week will be 2-12 (#1 isn't in play because there are two dice.) So I check if I have a book that fits more than one spot. For instance, I have this book:
Duty & Devotion (Faith, Love, & Devotion, #3) by Tere Michaels that fits 3, 4, 7, 8 & 10. That's 5 spots with only one book.

Once we get to the double digits things get easier because with 2 books you can fit all 11 possible spots. For instance, if all the possible spots for week 3 are 17-28, then either a #1 or #2 in a series will work.

message 16: by Nichole (new)

Nichole | 1862 comments Hola Teammies!

I'm Nichole, just turned 40 and married with no kiddos. I live in Oklahoma so I'm on Central Time. I've been on teams with a few of you before throughout GR :) I've been terrible about starting a bunch of new series lately so I'm really looking forward to this. I'm a compulsive list maker so I've already started 2 for this, lol. Of course, I rarely use them and just pick something else when it comes down to it.

I'm all for D.G. being captain! She's already reserved some spots :P

Team names?? I'll be back...

message 17: by Nichole (new)

Nichole | 1862 comments I never said they would be good ones...but here are a few to get started.

The Series Killers
Between The Sheets
Series Liquidators
Mullet Mafia
Razz Ma Tazz/ Razzmatazzers
Six Degrees of.... (Used this in another team challenge and won!)
Six Shooters
Hex Nuts
Six Pack of ....
Top Gunners
Frog Squad
Smartinis

message 18: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 948 comments Yeah I don't plan on planning too far ahead. I am mostly looking at my personal next in a series books and current audio book selection.

I am heavily loaded with 1-3 in a series books. So well covered for the teens to thirties.

message 19: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 948 comments Then again, I'm also a compulsive challenge planner.

message 20: by Mary X (last edited Jan 11, 2016 04:02PM) (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 948 comments She just turned 18 in November. I've been divorced for almost 5 years.

message 21: by Amanda A (new)

Amanda A | 685 comments Hi! I'm Amanda, 35, single with no kids and I live in South Carolina. I read a variety of genres and have a ton of series that are in progress. That does not stop me from starting a new series though. :-) I am fine with D.G. being captain too! Looking forward to playing this round with all of you!

message 22: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 798 comments I am happy with DG as captain!

I live in NYC, my two sons are in college, both on the 5 year plan, although for opposite reasons LOL. I work full time in finance and try to walk around the city as much as possible and knit so my nose isn't always in a book.

I have SO many series I've started that I want to finish. Although I am also easily distracted by the new and shiny

message 23: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 948 comments I went through the list and filled in all my next in a series books. I think I have enough of a wide variety of series books 1-9 to cover various numbers throughout the board as they pop up plus quite a few higher number ones.
Plus as I read some of them, I will then have new next in a series books to work with. Maybe this will help me finish a couple.

message 24: by Amy (new)

Amy Anderson (sallystitches31) | 147 comments hi guys!!! I'm so excited! I'm Amy (but go by Sally Stitches a lot so I don't care what you call me lol) I'm 31, mom of a 4 year old son, have a boyfriend and ex husband so it's like I have 3 children lol I love beards, books, baths, wine, tattoos, and cats. I am currently quitting my job as a massage therapist to go full time as the assistant manager at Torrid. I don't read a lot of series but have a few started. I like to read the alternates to dwindle down my TBR. Did I mention I'm excited?! :-)

message 25: by Amy (new)

Amy Anderson (sallystitches31) | 147 comments oh I also live in North Dakota (central time zone)

message 26: by Heather (new)

Heather | 268 comments Hello Team 6!!!!

This is the second time I've played this and I loved it the first time. I don't think I've "met" anyone here yet but I've seen most of you around.

I'm a married mother of three. I have an 18, 11 and a 2yr old. People tease that every eight years I'm bound to be pregnant! I lol I currently live in Houston, Texas but am from Baltimore and I'm dying to move back. I'm a stay at home mom. My favorite thing to do is read....surprise! And I'm completely addicted to Goodreads.

I work in midtown. I used to commute from Westchester, then when my youngest went to college we moved back into the city. Now I can walk to work and it's so much better!

Amy Anderson (sallystitches31) | 147 comments lol frog squad makes me giggle. plus my child watches the show odd squad so it rhymes. I'm good with everything! I've only played one round in the past but I loved it and knocked out quite a few TBR books so yeah, I wish we could roll!!

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 948 comments I'm not good at the name thing so whatever you guys want. Six Shooters, Series Liquidators and Between the Sheets are my favorites.

The only one that I can think of is something with "Six Guns" in it but only because there is a popular local band called "Johnny Six Guns" and so that's what keeps popping into my head.
