RORY McNERNEY So far,in If I Stay by Gayle Forman, as we get to know Mia's personality, we learned that she is strong. Obviously fighting for your like isn't an easy thing. When she also was explaining her relationship with Kim, she told us how they were enemies. The had verbally insulted each other, sabotaged each other, and even got into a fist fight. Now they are best friends. This makes both Mia and Kim look forgiving because that's hard to do after all the things they went through. Also, we were told Mia is unique. She's her own person. Both of her parents, and her little brother love to rock. They love loud heavy music. Mia on the other hand prefers classical. She loves the cello and her mom, dad, and little brother love drums and electric guitars. That shows the characterization used in If I Stay.

Meika I think Mia is strong, but she wasn't exactly 'fighting' for her life. The entire book she was just making a decision on whether she wanted to live or die despite not knowing what would happen after.
