Easy enough Question. We have Tea drinkers, Coffee Drinkers and those who enjoys a good drop of red (wine , not blood), while we read our books.
What i want to know is:
what drink do you prefer, when you read?

Me i'm a Tea Drinker. So i do love to drink my Tea, while i am reading a book.
however i have had make sure i have it in a thermal mug as i can get lost in the story... and nothing is worse than cold tea... or running out. So many times i have been so disctracted from the story that i forget my tea is finished and i take a sip only to find out i had already finished it!!!

Julie (juliejewels) | 19 comments Coffee in the morning, and tea in the afternoon for me. I always have to reheat mine, I find it hard to take my eyes off a good book once I've started reading. Lately I've been drinking peppermint tea.

my concentration is all on the book and not on the tea... thats why it can get cold.

I do drink coffee.... with lots of sugar. i don't like the bitterness of it mostly.

I tend to drink my herbal teas for whatever ails me at the time...or if i am dehydrated and i need water.
there was a time where Peppermint tea is all i drank. but Lately i have been trying to get onto Green tea.... still trying . i'm even trying the different types of it.
However i recently found a jasmine & oolong blend of tea that i took a fancy to at a pho restaurant i went to. mmm it was nice.
I don't think i could drink it while i read though.... it would seriously distract me cause i enjoy it too much!

but do you read and drink?..... maybe i should have called the topic that instead.
I think i'll just roll with it!
wow , Personally i can't stand monster.... then again it does give me heart palpitations!
do you find when you are stressed more that your coffee intake is increased?

me when i am stressed i do increase my tea intake. but then again i was raised a little british of sorts. for example if things happen like:
i am upset... have a cuppa
congratulations... have a cuppa
damn its hot... have a cuppa
damn its cold.... have a cuppa

yeah its kinda my answer to deal with life.

i tend to stay away from alcohol as i can get a bit silly with it (although there are days where you just need a beer or drink of choice).

Terri (terrilovescrows) | 12 comments Most of the time tea or wine (red). Occasionally Scotch

I drink all of those while I read. Depends on the time of day. I am not picky. I don't have time to steap tea or brew coffee, curl up in a chair and hunker down to read. I read on the shuttle from and to work, I read on my lunch break, I read waiting at the doctors office, etc,... I never have time to just read. I miss those times.

No smoking increases with my stress increase. I never smoke when I read though.

Jeana Budnick | 88 comments I don't really drink anything while reading. I'm usually too engrossed in the book to bother with a beverage. Though when I take a break I usually drink a bunch of water cuz I find myself quite thirsty

i'm terrible. i drink water before i go to sleep and when i wake up but other than that i just dont drink water.

when i find myself drinking the odd alcoholic drink i will drink more water.
alcoholic drinks of choice... cider, rum and coke, straight rum. at heart i am a rum girl. but i will drink whiskey or burbon. not a big wine lover but if it is sweet i will drink it....hate the dry stuff, it reminds me of vinegar!
I only drink alcoholic drinks when i go out , and i rarely go out.
but daily basis, unlimited cups of tea, couple of coffees, some water and soft drink/soda.
when i am reading it is exclusively tea or coffee (depending on the time of day/night).

Amber (bookvampirewub) | 3 comments I have to have water, because I tend to read outloud.

have you ever gotten drunk when you were reading and did it enhance your reading experience? i am a bit of a lightweight so i know i would be off with the fae. and with my overactive imagination possibly freaked out that whatever paranormal creature that features in the book i'm reading, would be after me. :o)

yessss! and once, I was not paying attention and downed a whole bottle of wine while reading this really hot book, A Night at Tears of Crimson<...It was so good and a favorite...I was quite tipsy and swore I was in that darn story...lol! And I can NOT drink reading the Anita Blake books...too many creatures of the night...I would never sleep!

message 19: by Julie (new)

Julie Miller I enjoy water is my favorite. then its either coffee or tea (jasmine is my favorite tea). These are all great while I read as I don't like to read and eat as I'm worried I will, drop something on my book

Hahaha kissie yes anita blake would be bad when drinking!
you drank a whole bottle! well i can't complain the most i had ever drunk over a day was a bottle and a half of moscato wine(it's the only wine i can tolerate drinking).
i think when you are initially distracted while you are drinking, you dont really keep track. i know i have moments when i am so engrossed in a book I'll go to drink my tea and i had already finished it!
julie i was initally scared when i first started drinking when reading... i am such an uncoordinated person. i found when i got a specific coaster for my drink and used that, i took a bit more care with my drink. as for it getting to my mouth in one piece, well im still working on that bit. thankfully i like to wear layers of clothing so if i spill hot drinks they dont burn!
