Rachael (classycupcakezz) | 5933 comments White Hot Kiss (The Dark Elements, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout red?

message 52: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90931 comments Mod
I don't think that's 50% red. Are they allowed to do white Abbie?

message 53: by Abi (new)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments Black and white books count, but they won't count towards bonus points.
You'll get the one point for the book, and one point for a buddy read, but you won't get 5 bonus points for reading 5 of that color.

White hot kiss has enough white on it to count. :)

Rachael (classycupcakezz) | 5933 comments Oh that's good to know as well! Thank you!

Rachmi | 4882 comments What do you think of these covers?

Under the Never Sky (Under the Never Sky, #1) by Veronica Rossi and Legenda. Wybraniec (Legenda, #2) by Marie Lu -> blue
This Much Is True by Katherine Owen -> green The Last Kings of Sark A Novel by Rosa Rankin-Gee -> couldn't decide whether it's green or yellow but there's another edition The Last Kings of Sark by Rosa Rankin-Gee -> is it yellow?

"This much is true" Looks more like a blueish grey with yellow, blue, and black bits. There's not enough of each colour, so that wouldn't count, sorry!

The first cover for The last kings of sark would count as green, but the other can count as yellow. :)

Under the never sky and Legenda Whbraneic will count as well. :)

Rachmi | 4882 comments @ Abbie: That's okay for "This Much is True" and thanks for the other. I'm trying to match books that are suitable for copy review challenge as well as rainbow challenge :D

Good idea! :)
The review copy clean up is a good motivator!

message 61: by Mira (new)

Mira I'm in! :)

Do these qualify?

red My Soul to Take (Soul Screamers, #1) by Rachel Vincent blue Violets Are Blue by James Patterson orange Forever (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #3) by Maggie Stiefvater yellow Diary of a Wimpy Kid # 4 - Dog Days by Jeff Kinney green Six Months (Seven Series #2) by Dannika Dark or Linger (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #2) by Maggie Stiefvater purple Darkhouse (Experiment in Terror, #1) by Karina Halle

Also what color is Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater ?

message 62: by Rachmi (last edited Apr 29, 2014 08:56PM) (new)

Rachmi | 4882 comments Abbie, if I read one blue cover book for "Read a Rainbow" and then I also want to read book with blue cover for "5 Books with the Same Color" Should I read another 5 blue cover book or I can count it for both of them. Hope you understand what I mean :D

Can I count Vital Sign by J.L. Mac as blue, Lucid by Adrienne Stoltz blue (or purple?), and Forgotten Yesterday (These Days, #1.5) by Renee Ericson as white?

message 63: by Rachael (new)

Rachael (classycupcakezz) | 5933 comments If I do 5 in one color and 5 in another color is that 10 bonus points?

Guys, I'm going to leave the colour-okaying to Abbie as she'll be about in a couple of hours.

Rachael - yes. you get 5 bonus points for each set of 5 for red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple. so if you do 5 yellows and 5 blues that would be 10 bonus points.

Rachel - Abbie will add you when she's next on ☺

My soul to take and violets are blue, darkhouse, diary of a wimpy kid are fine. :)

In 6 months, i'd say there's only about 35% of green there, so that wouldn't count, sorry!

Forever is a mixture between orange bits and brown bits, but it can count for white.

Shiver is a mixture of blue and grey, but it can count for white too.

Linger can count for green or white. :)
If you use it as white though, you won't get bonus points for reading 5 of those.

If you read 5 blue, one of those will count for read a rainbow.
So iff you wanted to read 5 of each rainbow color, you'll get the 5 bonus points for each colour, and 5 bonus points for each rainbow. (As well as the usual one point for the book + one point for buddy read)

Vital signs can count as blue, Lucid can count as purple.
There's not really enough white in forgotten yesterday to count though, sorry!

It's okay, Abbie and thank you for the other books. Now I can make a list for books I want to read for this challenge :D

message 71: by Mira (new)

Mira @Abbie Thank you! That was helpful :)
I'm sorry but I actually have another question about this. You see, if there's a different edition of a book that has a certain color more prominent than the original edition in English, will I be able to use it?
Like I want to read Death Masks (The Dresden Files, #5) by Jim Butcher and there are different editions that are orange but not in English.
Máscaras de Muerte (The Dresden Files #5) by Jim Butcher & Máscaras de muerte by Jim Butcher
And if it's okay to use them, then do they have enough orange for the challenge?

message 72: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90931 comments Mod
I'll leave okaying the colours to Abbie, but you can definitely use different editions of a book if they have a different colour cover that you want. If the cover is on Goodreads you can use it ☺

You can use any cover on goodreads. :) You just need to use the cover you want when you submit the review in the review thread.

The second one is fine for orange. :)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments Mira, for the two shiver books that only count as white, if you want to get bonus points you can use these:
Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater - Blue
Forever by Maggie Stiefvater - Purple or Forever by Maggie Stiefvater - Red

I wasn't quite with it this morning so i forgot to check the other covers!

so good! i think I had Feed (Newsflesh Trilogy, #1) by Mira Grant for £1.99, and Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, #1) by Cassandra Clare (Hardcover) for £2.99 at the same time, with free delivery. bargain!

message 85: by Abi (new)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments I got the first 9 books of morganville vampires for £15, was really good!
I blame the works for having Under the Never Sky (Under the Never Sky, #1) by Veronica Rossi Through the Ever Night (Under the Never Sky, #2) by Veronica Rossi on the 3 for £5 offer though. That's the only reason why i bought them.

I had UTNS for my birthday or christmas, then bought TTEN from the works for £1.99 cause they didn't have anything else that I wanted. TTEN was definitely the best of the three though.

If they're published separately as well then yes you can count them as individual books. You'll have to take the colours from the individual books as well though ☺
