Thanks. Sometimes I read in bed and nod off and don't really remember what I read. It is a good place to check if you dreamt that Stuff or if if was part of the book. It is Game of Thrones so one can never be too sure!

A helpful link for everyone who, like me, is having trouble keeping track of what chapter they're on. Warning: knowing if a character has more chapters in the book can be a spoiler, so try no to scroll too much :D

That is perfect Ria. I for one was struggling with which chapter I was on.
Thanks so much for sharing.

This is really great, thanks!
A good way to refresh my memory, since it's been a while since I read the first book.
Not for people afraid of spoilers, though.
Don't read ahead if you are -

Brianna I have finally taken a look at this site and learned something new.
"Bastards are children who are born out of wedlock. They are also referred to as "baseborn" or "natural" in the lands of the Seven Kingdoms.
All bastards can be easily identified by their surname, which is the same for all bastards in a region. Each region of the Seven Kingdoms has a different surname for bastards.
They are:
The Crownlands- Waters
The North- Snow
The Iron Islands- Pyke
The Riverlands- Rivers
The Vale- Stone
The Westerlands- Hill
The Reach- Flowers
The Stormlands- Storm
Dorne- Sand"
I, until reading that, thought "Snow" was the name for a bastard in any region. Duh! lol

I kept coming across the word 'leagues' as far as distance and was unsure what it meant. ex: " a distance of 25 leagues "
I had to look it up and found this:
"A league is a unit of length (or, in various regions, area). It was long common in Europe and Latin America, but it is no longer an official unit in any nation. The word originally meant the distance a person could walk in an hour. Since the Middle Ages, many values have been specified in several countries."

I was confused as to the name of Lysa Arryn's son (Robbin or Robert) so I looked it up.
Taken from http://awoiaf.westeros.org
"Robert Arryn, also known as Sweetrobin, is the only son of Lord Jon Arryn and Lady Lysa Tully. He is the new head of House Arryn, Lord of the Eyrie, Defender of the Vale, and Warden of the East.
Robert is named after King Robert I Baratheon.[2] In the television adaptation Game of Thrones the character is named Robin Arryn to prevent confusion with the king, and he is played by Lino Facioli."

Just bumping this up to the top. It is ADWD chapter summaries.

That is so helpful, I have been trying to find a summary of this book, but this is better! I had forgotten it was here.

Oh I like this. I wish I could have read it in this order. I still hate the way he broke up the books.

I wish I could have, too. I've no idea what is happening in the other parts of Westeros right now.
I believe he just loves to mess with his audience. I believe he has written the next book and is holding it back.
