Lea Ann (buntingla) | 765 comments Spending my morning watching Outlander dvds that a friend loaned me. They did an excellent job bringing this story to life, and Jamie Frazier...whew!

I was really surprised how much I enjoyed the show since I love the books and was really worried they would murder the story. They did a very good job with casting these characters. I don't remember the name of the actor that does Captain Jack Randall but he does such a good job!

Some quite hot scenes in the show.... almost made me blush.

Lea Ann (buntingla) | 765 comments Yeah, it's pretty steamy. Definitely adults only.

Lea Ann (buntingla) | 765 comments Okay, I just have to share this. I have my students write weekly reader response journals and one of the girls complained that she wasn't moving very quickly through her book. I wrote a huge response back to her explaining that I'm on my third attempt of reading A Tale of Two Cities, that it is very complex, that I often have to reread passages, and therefore I'm moving very slowly as well. Since then we've been challenging each other to read 25 pages a night to get through our books. lol As a result I'm on the third and final part of this book! Who knew I'd find a reading accountability partner in my own classroom?

Lucky you! I love reading on snowy days.

I am home this morning cause I had to wait for the guy to come fix the rip on my new couch but I think I will have to go in this afternoon. (the joys of working for a propane company)

I hear its not as icy that way as it is your way though.

Barbarian that I am, I'd never heard of Charlotte Bronte's book Villette before today. Going to Kindle, I discovered that this particular edition is free, to which one may add Audible narration priced (at least for me) at 49 cents!

Awesome, I have heard of this book in another group and I wanted to find it.

Thanks for the info.

Lea, that comment about a reading accountability buddy in your classroom is so delightful. I've got a couple of in-person accountability buddies with whom I'd like to share that nugget, if I may.

I've been working steadily through Villette by listening in my car. However, I'm finding the plot more complicated that P & P, with unexpected twists and more characters. I will be using the print version (also on my phone), which is much easy to use to skip back to read a passage or page.

Feel free to share away!

Lea Ann (buntingla) | 765 comments I was selling concessions at a middle school dance last night and doing book chats with some of my sixth-graders at the same time. Book NERD alert. My husband thinks I'm sad. lol

My Book Nerd Alert for the week was when a coworker and I went to Walmart Tuesday to buy work supplies and I made him go through the book aisle with me because new releases come out on Tuesdays.

Lea, you have my permission to ____ [fill in punishment of your choice] ____ your husband for that remark. Maybe: Take away his golf clubs? Lock him out of the man-cave?

Lea Ann (buntingla) | 765 comments Do you guys ever check out the "Discussions" page under the "Community" tab that brings up ongoing discussions for books you've read? I sometimes pull it up just to read. Tonight, because I was feeling super nerdy, I decided to make a comment on every discussion that pulled up. lol

I have glanced at them but never participated.

Sounds like you had an interesting night,
