I wanted to like this one SO much. I had a hard time getting into the story and then it all felt a little bit forced.
It's the story of how the four horsemen of the apocalypse are reincarnated and reunited by a girl named Daryn. They are supposed to protect a key rebel demons want to create a kingdom of their own. I think my real problem with this one was that is was all told backwards. It had all happened and the main character is telling the whole, almost the whole story, to someone else. I think I will read the next book, if only because I like the author so much.
This one comes out next month. It is an Aladdin retelling. The jinni is a girl named Zhara. I really liked this one, I was so easy to get into the story and visualise the land. I highly recommend it.
2.- This Raging Light by Estelle Laure.
I began the year with two wonderful books. In this one, Lucille finds herself taking care of her little sister after their dad gets committed to a mental facility and their mum just ups and leaves. I love how perfect the title of this book is. Lucille struggles to keep her family of two afloat while trying to hide the fact that they are on their own. I love how she just forges ahead, she wants more , a better , normal life. But she know it's almost impossible to obtain. Enter a love interest and it makes for a heartbreaking read. I definitely will read this one again.
