Around the Year in 52 Books discussion

This is my pick for week 4. I read The HANGMAN'S DAUGHTER for a challenge in 2015 and thought I would enjoy reading more so I picked up the series on Kindle.

I enjoyed this one too but not as much as book one--more of a treasure hunt like Dan Brown's books. I noticed that he'd slip into modern language now and then: for example "he kept hitting on me" when the man was trying to seduce her. And she responded "Cut it out!" The characters are quite good and likable though so I'll probably read more in the series.

I read this for 2019's Week 16: A book told from multiple perspectives. I stumbled across The Hangman's Daughter on Kindle Unlimited and decided to continue the series. I also noticed slips of modern language which made me laugh at the time. Overall, I like the characters and I will probably see if I can fit the third book of the series into the 2020 challenge.
