Really I should have posted this in the recipe thread!

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I just saw this picture, and thought what a lovely gentle innocent image. Then thought that if she lived in Port Naain she would probably have half a dozen dark secrets, or be a local crime lord or something...

message 610: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments who can tell, I'll mention it to Tallis

message 611: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments and thus the tale is told

https://tallissteelyard.wordpress.com...

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Oh, excellent! Definitely a lady with secrets. :)

One is left wondering just how many more there are to come out ;-)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Is that a subtle hint that there may be more stories to tell?

message 615: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments there are always more stories to tell, there's the story of how Tallis met Sneal the peddler, there's the tale of Stilwater the Squid Wrestler.
That's just since the start of March

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I am officially intrigued.

message 617: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments Tallis can spin off questions faster than I can answer them :-)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Asking a question is easy. Answering takes time, effort and thought.

message 619: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments it does indeed
Tallis seems to be popular and his popularity is slowly growing.
I'm wondering if I could so a 'story competition' in reverse. The prize for the person who sends the most appropriate picture is that they get a story
Trouble is people would have to know Tallis's world

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I like the idea, but I think it would have a fairly small catchment area...

message 621: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments Yes very small. Even those who follow the blog are noticeable by their enthusiasm rather than their numbers

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Interesting idea though. I just go and grab a random painting, and come up with this. I doubt Jess would approve ;)

message 623: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments have to ponder, doesn't look like a squid wrestler, or does he

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I'm sure squid wrestling would be very tiring.

message 625: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments a suspect that it's the 'after the event' parties that are the most tiring

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments A few post-squid drinks would have that effect.

squid wrestling does get a mention in Chapter 17 of Tallis Steelyard, shower me with gold and other stories.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Yes, I did remember that it was mentioned, but the gory details have slipped my memory.

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments I have been to the Flounder World Tramping Championship, but never seen squid wrestling

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I'm trying to picture that but I'm floundering!

message 631: by Jim (new)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Yay!

(and even a happy ending)

message 633: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments well he had a hard row to hoe did our Stilwater, so it seemed only fair things picked up for him at the end :-)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments True, true :)
