luck played no part in it, I made a conscious decision to avoid it :-)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Don't the cows and sheep appreciate music?

Jim | 21809 comments Gingerlily - Mistress Lantern wrote: "Don't the cows and sheep appreciate music?"

Cattle apparently do
but they appreciate music, not weird random noises which sound like a machine is dying in pain

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments More moosick then?

message 808: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments Gingerlily - Mistress Lantern wrote: "More moosick then?"

that stuff falls definitively into the moosick category!

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments It sure wasn't composed by Moozart!

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 1752 comments I'm just hoping 2016 was a good year for that choccie cake, Jim, it looks delicious but will it be stale by now? Would someone please bake another one?

Isn't it strange the way you bring out a new book and someone goes and buys the old one? Hope I'm not the only one who does this sort of thing.

No you're not the only one :-)

In theory when you launch a new book people should go to your amazon page, look in awed wonder at the marvels suddenly revealed to them and frantically buy everything they can

More likely is that they look and decide they're tempted and buy something to try.
It doesn't really matter whether you buy the new one or another, because either way you're trying the books and if you like them then obviously at some point you'll come back for more.
If you don't like them, well personal taste is by definition personal. There are fine authors with millions of happy readers but I don't like their books.
At least with the Tallis Steelyard books you can quite literally read them in any order :-)

Jim | 21809 comments Oh yes, and I'm sure somebody could get you a new cake, Gingerlily is the obvious choice for virtual culinary delights

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments If its delights you are looking for, don't watch those two videos I linked a few posts up.

On the other hand, I got a notification earlier for this video.

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 1752 comments Carrot cake comes a close second to chocolate cake.

Jim, I nearly bought the one with the pic of the ship on the front - it is almost identical to one of my covers! Good taste, eh?

unkind people have suggested to me that he may create it where none existed before.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Well there isn't much poeting in a quiet peaceful life. How many odes can you write about contented cows?
